    Default JennaM Journal

    Hey all,

I'm Jenna and I'm an aspiring bikini and figure competitor. I just turned 20, and I competed in my first bikini competition 3 years ago and I absolutely loved it. I placed 4th out of 25 awesome ladies, but even this wasn't good enough for me so I drove myself to do better next time. Unfortunately I had to stop competing shortly after that, and over the years I stopped taking good care of my body. Now I'm on the road to get back into the shape I loved and am proud of.

Before I competed, I'd always been pretty small. Before I started training for my competition, I was 5'5" and was suuuuupperr tiny. I don't remember how much I'd weighed at the time I started but at the time of my weigh-in, I weighed 120 pounds and I was the most lean I'd ever been my entire life. I couldn't have been more proud of myself:

Unfortunately that is no longer the shape I'm in today. I started eating a lot of crap between a month after my competition and last December. I said enough is enough around New Years and went to work.
Though I'm nowhere near where I was before, I'm VERY proud of my progress in 5 months:

Back in January, I was 5'6" and 168 pounds. Now I'm 5'6" and 129 pounds!!! I'm very happy with my hard work and consistency - the keyword. It's been tough keeping up the discipline to follow my diet and routine, but I'd say that it's paid off pretty well. I can't wait to see how I sculpt my body in the next coming months as I prepare for the Nashville Fit Show 2019, and I really hope you all encourage me and give me critiques on my regimen!!

    Thanks for reading! =)

Yeah! She started a training journal!

2019, you’ve got TONS of time! That also means you have ZERO time to slack off if you want to beat your last look, and I can tell that you do. I saw that show was previously at Vanderbilt which is such an awesome venue! Do you know whether it’s always there? (That was my daughter’s first choice for colleges btw)

Ha! Yeah, we soooo don’t have that kind of money and it was a longshot to try for a scholarship. Buuut she DID get a honking scholarship to Sewanee and she’ll be starting in the fall! :-D

Default 1st Actual log in journal

    Hey all!

I haven't actually posted anything regarding my fitness log so I decided to start now! It's been over a month (a month and a half) since I last posted about my progress here - I blame my hectic school schedule (and a little of my inherent laziness) over that.

I weighed 130 lbs after my 5 month journey to shed as much weight as humanly possible without screwing myself up, dropping an almost whopping FORTY pounds!!! I'm still amazed at my hard work and determination to not call it quits.

    So...

Back in June I was 5'5", 130 lbs:

I had quite a bit of what I call "bleh" flab on the tummy and butt areas, so I definitely worked on what I did not like seeing.

So for the past month and a half, I continued my split routine like this:
Monday: Chest and back combos with abs finishers
Tuesday: cardio - running longer distance
Wednesday: Lower body with abs finishers
Thursday: cardio - swimming OR sprint workouts
    Friday: full body workout
    Saturday and Sunday: Rest!!!

A lot of these workouts I just did at home (love love LOVE resistance bands!!!), like what you see here:

But nothing beats the good old squat rack

    The fruits of my labor??

    a MUCH nicer, tighter tummy
    I'm so pleased!!!!

If you have any comments or critiques about my routine please let me know!! I'd love to hear from more seasoned pros as I try to get back in fighting shape for football season.

    Cheers!!

    - Jenna

I'd start with Sunny because she is active on the site. A few of the guys here have experience with female athletes and there are female athletes also so them.
