I wrote to him many years ago and met him when I competed in the Mighty Mitts event at the Arnold.

In 1980 the World power championships were in Arlington Tx and some of us from the gym got volunteered to work there. On the Saturday of that weekend they had a morning and afternoon session.About 2 o'clock I decided to go to the gym and do a light workout.I was the only one in there when Terry and Jan walked in.I recognised them from some magazines I saw them in.Jan was the strongest woman in the world at that time.Well I was pretty young and kinda shy so I didn't say anything but eventually Terry asked me for help with a spot. This gave me my chance so I said "hey you're Terry Todd" He seems genuinely inpressed that I recognised him and we starteda conversation.I will say this.. I could not get him or Jan to talk about themselves they kept asking about me.How was my training going ,what were my other hobbies stuff like that.Terry even gave me his phone # and told me to call if I ever had any training questions(no e mail back then) anyway I have always remembered them as 2 super nice people.

It's kinda a shame that most gym users don't know about their input. I'm lucky in that I know all three of the UK's versions. David Webster, David Gentle and David Horne
