Going to Olympia for first time. Any tips?

I am finally fulfilling a long-time dream to go see the Olympia. I have never been to a big show like this. And I have never been to Vegas. Do you veterans have any tips? Getting around? Cheap eats? (I guess I am stuck with the Orleans eats since I am not renting a car.) How to manage going through the Expo, which i assume is huge and overwhelming? That sort of thing.

I've been going since 2008 & my best advice would be to not gamble. I have a horror story connected to that my last night in town covering the 2010 Olympia. Haven't gambled since & enjoy it much more - even though it's essentially a 'work trip' for me.

The mSm Family will be well-represented and our 'home base' is The Alligator Bar at The Orleans (where we are staying, which is also the host hotel). So come look for us there in the evening; we'll be doing live broadcasts from there while enjoying some drinks.

Last year, the expo was shitty on Friday but good on Saturday. It's getting larger since I first began going, but not as good as the Arnold or even LA Fit Expo, for that matter.

There is a free shuttle service from The Orleans to the Convention Center where the expo is held. And the shows are at The Orleans Arena, which is just across a parking lot from the hotel/casino portion of the location.

Uber is a much better choice than cabs; cheaper and smell better.

Awesome! You will have a great time. Most of the activities take place at the Orleans hotel and the orleans arena which is in the same complex, the expo is across town but you will get a free shuttle from the hotel to the expo center and back as Joe mentioned. The Orleans has lots of food options including a food court for fast food fare and also has lots of restaurants including tgi fridays, a casual diner style, an asian restaurant, oyster bar, a steak house and a high end restaurant I highly reccomend called Alder and Birch. They also have a coffee shop and of course a huge new buffet. I will warn you the casino is a bit smokey if that sort of thing bothers you. The pool area is a bit small and the gym is good but it's super packed during Olympics week. They are plenty other gyms around the area of you want to get in a workout. The hotel rooms are super old but you are staying in the company or the world's best bodybuilders so I think it pays off. Have fun!! See you there!
