Water weight with any kind of anabolic is a main contributor. Too much science to break down but anytime you add aas it's almost 100%. Cutting agents of aas ex: Winny, EQ, tren,etc. Will attach to receptors. More receptors=more muscle by inhibiting protein synthesis. Meaning youre muscles can use up more protein.

You'd really need to do a study on steroids and water retention but I can guarantee you 100% if the person on aas controls his diet & lowers sodium while increasing water consumption and eliminated testosterone completely towards the end of his cycle or close to a show, guaranteed steroids user would be more conditioned. That's if they're healthy & all their organs are functioning properly. Remember Test aromatises to estrogen & no e2 doesn't remove all the water. Too much e2 will probably make you retain some water if not make your joints hurt.

If it’s not rhetorical then my question is “Who’s to say who’s natural or not?”

Fwiw, I don’t care who pins or not. I’m sure there are some people who use AAS and look awesome just as there are some who use and look like garbage. Likewise with natural competitors some look fantastic while others look like absolute garbage. So the important thing for me is the look, condition plus structure plus posing ability… that total package. Not whether they’re natural or not.

That's true Curt. But let's not forget, the person with great conditioning can be associated with genetics as well. I knew a guy who ate burgers, pizza, drank like a fish and was ripped. & Knew someone the opposite end of the spectrum & went everywhere with his food, measuring his carbs to a rice grain, but looked decent. Genetics Trump's steroids but my point to clarification on conditioning is "if the guy or lady with great genetics took gear with juice aka aas, they would blow the natural guy out the water who diets and lives the bodybuilding dream 24/7".

Bottom line: genetics. So genetics & aas would beat the natural competitors, but testosterone can have a factor in it based on aromatization. But who knows I mean even testosterone can help I guess based on their genetic predisposition. But good genetics and no aas use vs terrible genetics and ass use with picture perfect diet, & the natural competitor wins hands down

I have so-so genetics and while I got outsized plenty of times I was never beat when it came to conditioning. And I can guarantee I could still beat the snot out of any gassed up competitor in my class - regardless of age - when it comes to conditioning
