Worst Mr O
This years O was a major disappointment. No amount of the commentators continual endorsement of the show thorough out the broadcast was enough to change the fact that not one guy was truly in Olympia conditioning. Take a look at the top 3 from 99 vs today. 20years of progress has lead to nothing but water buffalos. These guys today wouldn’t make the top 10 from 20 years ago.

I actually liked the top 3 guys. Nice seeing that tight waist on our Mr O again. I've thought the show itself to be horribly directed/produced for years and this year was no different. That Mr Olympia theme song !!??!! What was that???!!??

It is the Olympia theme song from the 80's. They play it every year before the night shows start.

I think your headline is doing a disservice to the hard work Dan Solomon and team put in to this years show, not to mention the hard work all of the competitors across all of the divisions put in year round. Overall, it was the best produced and best attended Olympia weekend I have been to and I've been going for nearly a decade. Sure, the open class lineup lacked the granite conditioning, but I thought they still put on a great show and Classic Physique as an addition to Saturday night was a fantastic addition.

Thank you, Evan. I've heard a lot of negative commentary about this year's Mr. Olympia (open men) & was puzzled by it. These pros knock themselves out for a year training their behinds off & sacrificing comfort to do the best they can. They are under pressure to perform well so that they reflect well on their sponsorship, & sometimes their livelihood is on the line. That happens every year, but Hadi Choopan's presence was inspiring, & made this Olympia historic.

The best Olympia of ALL time & will be remembered for ever, "Ronnie Coleman vs. Jay Cutler" & what made that Olympia so unique aside from their mass, both started & placed dead last number of times and kept on going!!! Man what a piece of history

Ha! Leave it to PfA to flip a "worst mr. o" thread to a "best mr. o" thread. Anyway, I'll take him up on that. My favorite Mr. O was Samir Bannout in 1983. His look is the one that appeals the most to me. Muscle & Fitness revealed Samir's secret: he had a trainer who hypnotized him in order to keep him calm & focused. Samir stated that his trainer could even do it over the phone.

I thought it was a good Olympia, but what do I know (Curry looked amazing, small waist, wide shoulders, x-frame, massive arms, no asymmetries whatsoever)

SB777, you know quite a lot. Curry was DA MAN, & deserved his win. Yes, he could have been tighter, but for conditioning we had Cbum & company in another division. As for the idea that Curry would have easily lost to Rhoden &/or Heath, we'll never know. They said the same thing when Jackson won the Olympia in 2008. & in fact, every Olympia has been nitpicked to death, especially the most controversial ones (1972, 1980). Hey, it's just a contest.

I personally feel like Rhoden looked great last year but Curry is just a whole nother level. However, i think people in general are getting sick and tired of just black Mr Olympias, people miss the old days of Arnold where there was more variety, there were more whites back then, now the Mr Olympia line up is almost 100%black, and people get turned off by that
