What's your opinion on opening up?
I say it's very dangerous & will lead to sharp increase In covid 19. But hey, we might not get

I think you need to give people the choice. Open everything back up. If your at risk or afraid, then stay home. If not then people should be able to live their normal lives again. Taking people rights and freedoms away isn't the answer. Look at some of the stats for the Swine flu back in 2009, nothing closed then and we pulled through.

Info will always conflict. We've docs who are not viral experts being cited all over the place. People keep going on about the economy when it recovered back in 1918 when up to 200m died. And that's without pointing out the number of epi and pandemics we've had when people didn't think it was all a scam - just this one. Sheesh.
If people start dying in droves like they did back in 1918 then naysayers can bleet all they want06, 08, 09 and now 2010 British (4x) and 2008/2010 European Grip Champion (2x)

Epidemiologists are experts in the spread of disease and not other health matters. The doctors that are questioning lockdown are doing so out of concern for other health matters that are spiking. To discount these concerns because they don’t come from epidemiologists whose expertise is only one field seems short sighted. The best policies take in data from a wide variety of experts.
You can’t compare the economies of 1918 and 2020 without noting vast differences. There was less unemployment in 1918, a war was ending, electricity was spreading into more and more homes and industries were different. The unemployment numbers of today are much more in line with the Great Depression or the 1930’s. Sure economies almost always recover but the question is the amount of hardship suffered.
To question the lockdown measures isn’t to say covid19 is a hoax. It’s is to ask if the current measures are too focused on Covid numbers and not other health concerns and serious economic hardships enough. It’s Not to say we throw caution to the wind but it is to say does everyone and every area of the country need to have the same measures. When this is all over will the people who support Extreme lockdown measures say look how many Covid deaths we stopped and never take into account the other deaths and hardships those measures may have caused?

I think some people are being reckless.
As long as there's no vaccine, we're not going to be completely safe.Last edited by Widenymous; 05-26-2020 at 10:31 AM.

I have no complaints of opening everything back up again, with or without the distancing rules (preferably without).
That said, I can totally respect others who feel it’s not safe and their need to mask up and glove up and sanitize everything in sight. (Btw, humans have a symbiotic relationship with the bacteria and viruses around us and if we completely kill all those organisms we DIE, but I digress). If it makes you feel safer to stay home and protect your health in those ways, go for it. I’ll even go along with it if it makes you more comfortable.
I have spent TEN LONG YEARS finding work arounds in the gym in order to improve my health, mental and physical. Resistance training has helped me avoid a risky hip replacement and I have managed my pain without the use of any drugs, prescription or OTC. I’m absolutely devastated about losing the ability to walk and having to sacrifice my own general health because I’ve been forced out of the gym. I can’t sleep because of debilitating pain. I relied on machines like the Smith and the elliptical. It’s not like I have the budget for either one of those in my house even IF I had the space, which I don’t. I’ve lost 2” off my legs. Can’t do bodyweight exercises for lower body, literally can’t go for a walk or a bike ride around the neighborhood or even walk my dogs like everyone else. It will take me 6 months to a year to get back to walking without stumbling from one stationary object to another to get around. Rehab is costing me a small fortune out of pocket. Funny how ironic it is: the people at risk are the least healthy and after things open up in any capacity they’re going back to their sedentary lives right away. It’s not like any of them would offer to give me a hand regaining MY health after I spent the last 3 months sacrificing mine for their sakes.
I can now obtain a permit letter from a veterinarian so that my poodles can be groomed for medical reasons. Yet I am not permitted the same in order to preserve my ability to walk and manage excruciating pain without the use of drugs. That makes zero sense to me.Last edited by Sunnyday; 05-26-2020 at 11:37 AM.

Trump's saying if it happens again, nothing is being shut. So die at your own cost.

Shut your own stuff down, not mine. I've spent a lifetime creating my business only to have it ruined for a narrative driven by a virus and fear. The majority of my customers are small business and many are now OUT OF BUSINESS, for life. Their dreams have been erased.
If you're so worried about contracting it, stay home and away from people.
You're an arrogant self-centered putz yourself.

I mean would you rather die? I own houses & not even 40 yet. You're almost 70 still worried about $. If you get covid19, catch pnemonia at your age, don't say in ICU, oh damn PFA was right. So, keep heading outside at your age & let's see how much sorry you were to do so because you're worried about $. I mean it's your life. Do whatever the f$&k u want. Just don't go begging to live because your ignorant self insisted on going to run your business.
My logic is, if my tenants do t pay me now, they'll pay me later, plus I already have emergency funds cause I planned ahead of whatever happening. Obviously, you need funds since you're so desperately trying to run your businessLast edited by Poker face Ace; 05-29-2020 at 10:44 AM.

I have plenty of money you ignorant a-hole.
I am not almost 70 and I have money in the bank because of my business and working hard all my life.
Be careful driving your car, people die in car accidents. Many more than do from COVID.
Hope you don't have a drink of alcohol and drive your car, people die from drunks.
Never collected a dime of welfare and do not need to. Owned my first home at 21, started my business at 19, still going today. I like buying things, going places and not hiding from a fucking hoax virus.
Did you feel this way about the flu too, did your ass stay home in 2014 when 80,000 died from the flu?
I will compare my bank balance with yours any day.Last edited by Mac; 05-29-2020 at 02:03 PM.
