11 Days Out
Damn... This is really going to happen, competing is something that I've wanted to do since I was 13 years old, and while I don't think I'll ever come anywhere close to looking like a Jay or a Ronnie, I'm still looking forward to the experience.
I got my posing routine down and found a side chest pose that is way more flattering for me (the bodybuilding style wasn't cutting in, going to the classic physique version has been better for me). I've been spending 30 minutes every day just getting used to holding the poses for 30+ seconds and going through the mandatories.
Tonight, I did Chest/Bicep once again Emphasizing Supersets, I got a little tired towards the second half of the workout, but managed to power through it.
SUPERSET (4x)
Incline DB Press
DB Curls
SUPERSET (4x)
Hammer Strength Press
Hammer Curls
Single Arm Crossover (3x)
Machine Flies (3x)
Single Arm Cable Curls (3x)

10 Days Out... Workout 1
Today, I got in a quick back workout, really not a fan Mask-Nazis/Karens, so I'm only going to go to the gym late at night. I don't know when society became a bunch of fear-mongering sissies, but we are where we are, here was the workout:
Lat Pulldown (3x)
Pull-ups (3x)
T-Bar Rows (4x)
Bent Over Rows (4x)
Back Extensions (3x)

This!! I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have Exile as a gym! Mad props for finding a way around that nonsense!
It’s almost peak week for you, man! This is when it gets really good! You’ve got a great coach so it will be an enjoyable and memorable week! Take lots of pictures so you can look back on everything later. I’m so excited for you!2016 RX Member of the Year & March 2015 Member of the Month

Yeah, the mask (while ineffective) is the new Virtue Signal, they were totally fine for the past two months allowing people to train without it, but now I think they're living in fear of getting closed down... So I get it. I was pissed when I saw 3 people without masks roaming around being left alone, but I was told that I needed to bring mine. Oh well, if it keeps the gym open I'll have a face decorator on lol.
Peak week is coming, I'm taking a DexaScan on Sunday to see where I'm at BF% wise. This morning I woke up at 171.96lbs, so I'm about 8lbs lighter than my last scan in April.

8 Days Out: Nothing is keeping me off that stage
Yesterday, after 20 years of training... I finally caught a scare in the gym. I was doing smith machine squats and the first set after my warmup set, I went down and didn't feel quite right, so I readjusted my feet and went down again... I felt a big pop in my left quad, left leg gave out, and I had to rack the weight and hobble out of the gym. Luckily for me, this happened mid-afternoon on a Friday and I have the weekend to heal.
I don't think that it is anything serious, because outside of some swelling and some tenderness, I can walk more comfortably and move my leg significantly easier today then I could yesterday. The only probably is, I can't flex it as of right now, so I'm praying that it didn't get detached, but I don't think that is the case.
So today, I'm just going to do some upper body circuit training later (all machine based), and just focus on keeping my upper body nice and tight. I think that if I can FLEX my legs, I have a legitimate chance at winning my pro card, if I can't flex my legs... My upper body is not good enough to win on it's own, so at that point I'll just be showing up to finish what I started.

Ow wow that sucks!! Hang in there, because anything can happen over the next week. If you can just pose one leg they’ll get the idea (I’ve done this btw and still killed it). As you put it, finish what you started! I still think you’ve got this!!

8 Days Out: Upper Body Circuits
Today, I focused on a short/quick upper body circuit workout, just to get the blood flowing and the veins to pop out a bit, here was the workout:
4 rounds:
Hammer Strength Press
Lat Pulldown Machine
Side DB Raises
DB Curls
DB Kick Backs
(2 minutes rest inbetween)...
Leg feels better, still can't flex, but I can walk.

7 Days Out: 15.5% Body fat / Quad Healing
Today, I woke up and was able to squat slightly lower than yesterday, plus I was able to push my daughter around for a walk around the neighborhood... so that was nice. Still not seeing the striations when I flex on my left side, but I think that has to do with swelling... gonna continue to ice it and keep on trucking.
I woke up a little extra early this morning, so that I could go ahead and take the final Dexa Scan before the show. Officially, I'm now 15.5% bodyfat and got started at 21.4%... This is the best muscle/fat ratio that I have ever had which is great, definitely not the 12% that I was aiming for, but it's my first show We'll get better over time.

Glad to hear you can move better. That sounded really scary! I was so bummed for you. But it sounds like it’s healing quickly. It will probably heal faster now during peak week than it would at any other time in prep. So maybe it’s a blessing in disguise?
