Default Do i need to have days off, in my routine?

    Hello there,
Ive been working out every two days for past 4 months (2 body parts per training).
Recently Ive decided to start going to the gym everyday (each body part each day). Im feeling great, but my friend told me, i should have at least one of break in a week. Is this true? Or does it depend on my training program? Thanks.

u should take one week off to let ur body rest and hey there i take one week off to let my body grow and rest. if u stay in the gym everyday, ur body will begin to not grow and u'll feel tired everyday. so yet please take a week off and u'll see ur body grow and u'll be more rested.

Damn, a whole week? I dont think i can last that long. Im scared ill start losing interest in gym (its extremely hard for me to get motivated, its a miracle i started going to the gym alone). What about going to the gym every two days and doing two body parts per day, like i used to? I think it should okay, since most training plans ive seen are designed that way?

goin' to the gym only 2 days a week doesn't really help ur body to grow the muscle u want. it takes 4 to 5 days a week to hit the gym. my hubby and i hit the gym 4days a week and it works for us. with us takin; a whole week off for our bodies to rest and grow. does this make sense to u now?

A little bit of misunderstanding here. I said every 2 days, not only two days. So its basically 4 times a week. Alrighty then, ill do that. Thank you for your time.

In a word - yes. Over time you'll stress your CNS and recovery

What about a pretty popular workout program ive found on M&S? It goes like this:

What is your goal? Is your goal to workout as much as possible or is your goal building a good physique? If it’s building a muscle and good physique then you need days off. You do not build muscle in the gym. You tear down muscle. You build muscle when you rest. If you’re training hard like you should then there’s no way every day is productive. Are you getting stronger each time you hit a body part? Adding weight or reps? If the answer is no then you’re spinning your wheels and wasting time. The 5 day split you listed is kind of meaningless. What are the exercises? How many hard failure sets? Rep ranges? I personally can’t go more than 2 days in a row and have to take a day off before and after legs other wise I run myself into the ground and overtrain. Most of the time more days or more volume is not the answer. Almost never is it the answer.

Well my goal is to build muscle. Why is working out 5days a week bad? Its not like im training same parts every day. Yes, im trying to increase weight as often as its possible. And these are not light trainings, im always sweating like a dog and can feel these muscles ive trained, the next day.

Give it a go and see. I train M-T, off W, T-F and off S-S. Check my log to see how I get on
