Hey, how long does it take for Growth to kick in, for injury prevention, I am a noob to the chemical enahncement world, and have had mixed sources of information, som saying 24 hours, some saying up to 3 months till it kicks in.
Obviously if it takes 3 months to kick in, the use for injury prevention short term is pointless, so I assume you guys are of the opinion or knowledge that it kicks in rather quickly, since you are using it for injury repair.
Any help or advice would be great, I hury my patellar squatting last night.
Thanks,
- Icy

GH won't prevent injury. It will speed recovery though. I would estimate it cuts recovery in half.
Yes, GH takes a couple months to show obvious benefits, but it starts working immediately. However, if you have an injury that is preventing you from exercising, GH won't put you back under the iron in a day or a week.

As an adjunct to the above, which by the way I whole heartedly agree, I have always addressed injury with excersise and hightened nutrition. When I broke my tibia, fibia and talus at age 66 it was deemed to be a crippling blow to a man my age. BULLCHIT. I was immediatly on the floor with my bands working my ass off. I was out of the cast into a boot in 2 weeks. Into the gym and training everything else but the break. Week 6 I was walking on my own and doing the stair machine. Week 12 squat rack. DONE. I took 2 Animal PAKs a day PLUS 2 xtra grams of C, cal/mag/zinc and 1000 iu D3.
12 months ago I tore my groin so bad the bruise by day 3 was all the way to my foot. I have posted the pic in my thread. I did the same. Trained my ass off and upped my nutrients as before. Squat rack week 3.
Good healing.....

So to sum up to speed up my recovery:
Keep strengthening the injury area as much as possible without hurting or reinjuring.
Eat healthy
Take extra vit C, D3, Zinc, Mag, Calcium
GH can be used to speed up the healing process
Is that about right ?
Question about the OTC supplements, I see the Vit C, D3, Zinc, is it because they all boost immune system function. Is that the reasoning behind those ?
Thanks guys

I tore my tricep tendon and muscle nearly 100%; had surgery on August 17. Trained one side as Esplendido suggested and lost only about 4-5 pounds. Doc gave me clearance to train both sides about a month ago, but I am still incredibly weak and the elbow hurts sometimes doing routine things like grocery shopping. I can barely bench 185 for 8 reps. The bar alone was difficulut at first! I can shoulder press with 100s on the non-injured side, but on the injured side can barely move the 60s without pain and weakness. I can see scar tissue. Is this normal about 6 months out from surgery? Should I go back to my Doc who was very goos to check that it has healed okay?

Do you recall the very first time you benched? Struggled at what....135? Then how long did it take you to get to 185? Months I bet. And then it was with 2 healthy tris. Your tricep was just re attached. Your body has been sucker punched, bitch slapped and violated. 185# 180 days after surgery?? Fucking amazing. Great Doc....typical Bodybuilder...I want it all back NOW. And I say that with much brotherly love and understanding....been there many times.
Give it TIME brother.....be wise and be patient...OK?

In response to Mr Aust92. what do you think about prolotherapy for partial shoulder tears? Seems i may have partial bicep and superspinatus tear . going in for mri next week. 8months of massage chiro ice heat stretching stabilization ex arent helping. Had shoulder surgery 5 yrs ago and the pt and general pain for 4 months was excruciating. wasnt really back to normal for about 9 months. i did ice heat nsaids hydrocodone to help. ps would a Dr actually recommend HRT and hgh for a 39yr old female swimmer? Curious your opinion. I assume you arent actually a Dr.
