Pumping up before the stage
How do you pump up before stepping on stage? Are there certain bodybparts you do pump up and certain ones you don't? What exactly do YOU do?
You guys with the huge sponsor ads in your signatures make reading the forums annoying.

I pick up light weight(I dont get why some use heavy weight..lightweight to pump) and focus on back(rows,pullups...I use band for rowing or db rows) and shoulders(presses,lateral raises) mostly..then biceps(curls), triceps(kickbacks) and chest(pushups,flys)...no legs I keep my clothes on until I get oiled at the last minute..you want to stay warm..

What do you ladies think about pump up for the bikini division? Should I keep it light so my veins don't pop out? Just use a band or do some push ups?

I use 10lbers and do 10-15 reps of bent over rows, tricept kickbacks, bicept curls, shoulder presses, lat raises and repeat. it's total body.

You're all right. Bikini isn't supposed to have visible muscle so there would be no pumping up. Once bikini competitors start pumping up they're becoming figure competitors and then we get into the mess of "what look is figure?" "what look is bikini?" "what do the judges want?" And if bikini competitors start comning is with muscle then what was the point of having bikini in the first place?

Too late lol we've already been having the whole crossover between the two and same physiques winning both. But I I don't see it necessary for bikini. Actually a lot of more muscular figure girls even stopped pumping up because it would get them too vascular and muscular for even figure. Although some do simply because they like the way their body looks better pumped up... so maybe the bikini competitors feel the same way.

do you ladies do abs before stepping on stage? I see people do lower leg lifts, but I never have. As a figure competitor I always focus on shoulders/arms the most.

Thanks ladies. Yeah, I guess it is still a little bit confusing as to what look is good for bikini.
