Default FBB's.....CRITIQUE on FRONT LAT SPREAD!!!!

I was HOPING to get some critique's/opinions of which front lat spread looks better for me. I will be competitng for the VERY FIRST TIME in BB in 4 weeks and need to know which pose I should stick to.....My legs are a weaker bp for me which is why I would like some opinions from all the wonderful/honest/talented fbb's on RX
    thanks

also, don't mind the yuck hair/no-make-up look, we take pics FIRST THING Sat Am's. Plus we are re-modeling...so please excuse the location of the pics. HA

    you are looking really good!

on the 2nd one you might try your feet a bit wider feet pointed out to sides should make quads look bigger

I like the 2nd - only caveat is if you go up on your toes, make sure you can go up on your toes & not fall over. Esp your first time out, if you're nervous and they call out the poses quickly, it can take a minute to get set up. Or if you have to hold it there, sometimes you need to get the adrenalin under control to hold it and not bounce up & down on your toes while trying to hold it.

I like front lat spreads - if you've got strong delts & good quad detail, both of which you do, it makes for a very powerful "X-shaped" pose.

^^ Also agree w/ Suzanne - for the same reason as above - it can be very powerful pose, at least IMO if you create that big X shape.

AHHHHHHHH, you gals are FABULOUS! ok, so I will stick with the 2nd look, but you are suggesting that I spead my legs out further, if I am understanding that correctly?????? I will try that then, I just know my inner quad is almost non-existant! LOL I swear they are the biggest BP in the offseason(due to OBVIOULSY, FAT) and then they come down to nothing!!!!!! I am trying to make my legs APPEAR
the biggest I can, so I will keep at it and I am sure I will be back again as you ALL have helped. THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU

I agree with Sassy here. I do a lot of my placing as an NPC judge off the Lat spread and front 1/4 turn. If you do do the pose on your toes commit to it and straiten your legs fully but your feet should be a V shape to bring out quad thickness. Tammy Patnode does this well Just without the toe raise. http://www.rxmuscle.com/rxgallery.ph...uilder=4005#18 If you cannot push your foot forward against the ground which you cannot when up on both tootsies, you must lock your knees to flex quads fully. Its all about angles and perspective.

BTW inner quad is adductor which is hamstring actually...wide stance toes out deep squats and plea style DB squats are good also. Sumo dead lift work it also. Fabulous delt caps and structure though...you have a lot of tools to advance in the sport. from the front and what I can see.

We all have our problem areas so don't sweat it-you will get better each time and from the pics you posted you def have great symmetry so I would say check out the ladies with the best lat spreads in the pro ranks namely Isabelle T and Heather Armbrust .

I like the 2nd one, but go wider on the stance and up on toes.

hehe....Suzanne....I made Tina's suit and think its cool you posted the pic of her from the O. This is an awesome front lat pose on her.

If your toes are pointed outward you get more profile on the outer sweep and that builds more thickness to the leg - gives more shape to the X shape.

Here are two great examples from the O this weekend:

    Heather Armbrust (2nd place):

    Lisa Aukland (4th place):

one leg OUT? OR both legs UP?

One observation - in your shots - the camera person is at eye level - and your standing straight up to slightly leaning back -

on stage the judges eyes are usually below the level of your feet so standing straight to them would look like your leaning backwards. not good.

Be sure to lean over just enough when your hitting all your poses to give that full look to the judges.

    all the best
