    My trainer has me hitting traps 1x per week. usually just shrugs. I never go too heavy though.

    I train my traps. Like Zoa said - they're 1/3 of your back.

    Not usually...I personally don't prefer huge traps on woman and I have a short neck so not a lot of room there for them to grow. That being said I do add upright rows or shrugs maybe once per month...

    There has been the occasion where I have seen well-developed traps on a female and found them quite beautiful-Laurie Steele is an example

    Mine aren't particularly outstanding but I've been doing shrugs & upright rows for as long as I can remember. I think part of that was I always was fascinated w/ watching the big guys' backs while they did shrugs - I wanted that

    I have to do a little more focus work on mine because they seem to lag behind. I guess I have kind of a long neck......maybe that's why.
    So I guess it depends on the person.

    Why not!? If you're a bodybuilder, BUILD your body. Traps really only get out of proportion if you have high traps (I don't', sadly) and use a lot of heavy AAS. Go heavy too. Fuck the light shit. That's for Ballys. So shrug, tug, pull ad work those traps!

    I like them on most women. I train them.

    one word you need to get familiar with for great traps: DEADLIFTS.

    and they do not grow with light weight and high reps, that's for conditioning which is a completely different type of muscle fibre training for a completely different purpose.

    GO HEAVY (a relative term of course) and hit different angles if you want to see improvements.

    Laura Binetti is knows for having great arms, but she also has awesome traps.

    In this pic, Christa Bauch had very good traps back when she was competing. She must be at least 63 by now.

    May have been off season but still amazing shape. She was guest posing at the 1996 BC Bodybuilding championships.

    Default a training tip

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B1wjfFoZVPk"]YouTube - Zoa Linsey Trains Alex - Ms.Figure Okinawa 2009[/ame]

    I was training my close friend and client Alex (Ms. Figure Okinawa 2009) last night - back day - and helping her find her inner (lower traps). This is a very tricky thing to do for many women and positioning of the arms is important to get it right. We are also working on bringing more shape to her rear delts so this exercise is perfect for her....I video-taped her so she could see her form visually and make corrections.

    Chk it out if you need another idea of how to target the LOWER TRAPS (not the 'bulge' up top by your neck, the inner back to show 'detail' on your physique when on-stage)....

    ^Powergirl, which gym is that? I'm looking for somewhere to train while I'm there. My friend that I'm visiting does Crossfit, and I'm not interested in going to her studio at all.
