Confession time
I wanted to clarify why I intend to take the Rx Challenge. I will be competing in the Masters Nationals next July. I had intended to bulk through the Arnold and begin my cutting diet right after.
However, by laying off from competition in 2009, and although I've gained some quality muscle, I've also added more fat, especially in my midsection. At 52, the skin isn't as elastic as it was 20 years ago. My waist is currently 40" at 280lbs. I compete with a 34" waist. I need to lose that belly fat months before competition rather than right up to it.
So I'm using the Rx Challenge to get into "near" contest shape so that I allow my abdominal skin 5 months to tighten up. My deficit at the Challenge will be loose belly skin. So you guys do have a slim chance at beating me

That's a good strategy, I think.
When I went from a 36" waist to a 29" waist for my last two contests, I had some loose, hanging skin on my abdomen. It kind of ruined how I looked from the front.

I think this is going to happen to me for the contest...I am at 38 1/2 right now. and it has been stretched between 38-41 for most of my adult life. It is going to be saggy as hell at 32

Maybe Dave will have an AARP division for the over 50 crowd
Unless there's a bench press contest I joined and didn't know about it doesn't matter how much I bench.

Keep believing, Mikey! I started dieting today by cutting back my country fried chicken to just 8oz and only 1/2 cup of gravy on it for breakfast.
