6 Year old boy Trapped 7000 feet in the air inside a custom made balloon

(CNN) -- Officials are trying to rescue a 6-year-old boy who climbed into a balloon-like experimental aircraft built by his parents and floated into the sky over eastern Colorado.

The family describes the structure as a dome-shaped "homemade flying saucer," according to sheriff's office.

The boy's family had been building the experimental aircraft at their home on Fossil Ridge Road in Fort Collins, CNN affiliate KUSA reported.

"We're trying to determine the best course of action," Davis said. "This is a first and we'll do what we need to do."

The Balloon is about 7 Feet in Diameter. Moving at about 30 miles per hour(48.2803 kmph).

Is he actually TRAPPED inside it ?? Because if it isn't some sort of compartment... he isn't really "trapped"

its about 20 degrees colder than ground level. air temprature drops about 3.5 degrees per 1000 feet of altitude increase.

there is a compartment at the bottom of the balloon made of nylar and filled with helium. They believe the boy might of fallen out of the balloon only because of the door being opened.

Here it is 10 degrees celsius...so that would mean -10...don't know how warm it is in the US...but here (Europe) the kid wouldn't survive...that is... if it hasn't got decent isolation...
