dorian yates training?
hi guys,
just wanted to know what kind of periodization is recommended when one trains dorian style ( one all out set going beyond failure)...
wud really appreciate

he never really mentions any, he does suggest taking extra days off when you need them though.
i know for me personally i do about 8 weeks hard and then 2 weeks with lighter weights and less intensity.

he said somewhere that he would do 4 weeks training to failure then the 5th not to failure then repeat.

theres a dvd by mark dugdale where he goes and trains with dorian in the temple gym in birmingham its a great film he trains for a week and dorian explains alot about his training ideas an and philosiphies. its well worth a watch. its the best training vid around IMO

MD has two radio shows where Dorian discusses this himself...he said 6-8 weeks...if I can recall it correctly...

Whatever Dorian talks...he talks sense....Guys who just want to lift heavy for their ego's might not agree with Dorian's style to a point....
