A Proper "REP"
To make things easier let's divide a REP into three parts :
1)positive
2)STATIC ( where we SHOULD hold a good muscular contraction )
3) negative
For MAXIMUM muscular growth stimulation, what do you guys think it's the optimal way to perform a REP ?
From personal experience I would say a good rep consists of a controlled positive followed by a good static muscular contraction, ended by controlling the negative on the way back.
I've seen people perform an explosive positive, skip the static, and than drop the weights back on the negative like maniacs...
***Remember were talking about bodybuilding not powerlifting.

I try and do whatever is comfortable on the joints at this point...lately my rep tempo has been looking something like this.
0-x-0, working out is overrated, I now am working on being a professional Call of Duty player!! Good sponsored athletes will make 70k+ yearly, not including any tournament $$$

I like my neg 2x the time of my positive. I then finish my last set with a very slow neg with very light weight on problem body parts, which is nearly all of them.
