Hamstrings

I train at home with a pretty decent supply of weights and bars. I'm looking for ways too really hit my hamstrings at home. Any suggestions?

Honestly....hack squats, leg presses, leg muscle extenions, stiff leg dead lifts, all of these will contribute to develop some good hamstrings. Each one of them is important because it goes by the simple rule, to develop any part, you have to hit it from different angles.

That is why we have different exercises for one muscle, otherwise for chest we will be doing just bench and or for legs we would be doing just squats(jus giving an example).

By the way, with romanian deads or good mornings, the focus should be on initiating the lift by putting your hips back, and continuing to do so for the entire eccentric. The weight should be back on your heels, so much that you can easily lift your toes up during the lift. Of course make sure you don't let your knees flex a lot, but don't lock them out, either.

If your legs are too wide you may really start to hit the adductors (the muscles between your legs) and glutes.

I recommend doing a lift heavy and hard and noting what gets sore. If your glutes and adductors get trashed you may want to reassess your technique.

many people do GMing's and RDL's and never feel it in their hams. When done correctly they will thrash the hams. Dont even think about lowering the bar, just focus on pushing your ass back and the bar will automatically lower.

You can probably get away with Glute-ham raise and a hyper-extension if you are creative.

Concur on the hyperextensions. If your machine is the angled vice straight type it's easy to hit hams hard and even take it a step further by raising to your knees if you can handle it. Other than that seated ham curl machines will rip up the glute ham tie in.
