I had 4 hours yesterday set aside for the Excalibur pre judging hoping to see the men, especialy the Masters men. Got there at 9:30am and left at 1:30pm. Nothing but Bikini and Fitness model divisions. What?? 150 entrants. Not a single man on stage by then. The flyer showed men up first. WTF?? What a waste of my time. I wanted BODYBUILDING.

Looks like Troy Tate (12th place LHW at this year's Nationals) won the men's Overall.

Hey Baldie - I'm sorry I missed you - we were sitting in back w/ my buddy waiting for 6 hrs for any of his classes (masters or open) to get up there. 4 hrs of figure & bikini made me want to kill myself We got there at 8 am for the Competitors meeting & he didn't get on stage until around 3 pm.
Then the order of things was changed for the night show where the masters were among the first up. By the time we got back from "lunch" there was like 50 minutes before we had to get back for his night show.
The place was packed tho!
I wouldn't call this the smoothest Jon Lindsay production I've ever seen, but they were working with, I heard, 293 registered competitors, and then assume a number of those people were competing in multiple classes (e.g .open & masters). HYUGE show.

Would you all say that SoCal shows are the most competitive in the nation?

How did your man do Sassy?
I approached every blond with an inkling of muscle in the freakin auditorium...how did I miss you? I asked..."are you Jill?" to over a dozen blonds.
I found Krissy, Troy and Lou in their booths. Spent time with Joe Antouri, CEO of PTA, the IFBB Trainers School, in their outer lobby booth. An old training partner who I trained for his Mr. USA and Mr. World wins in the 80s.

We were sitting in the way back area behind the rows of chairs just snoozing I guess. I didn't walk around much because I was on "support duty".
He came in 3rd in the Masters Heavy wts - general consensus amongs the viewing friends & family was that he looked great in terms of physique but just needs to work on posing - e.g. flexing legs, chest up, staying tight in relaxed pose during the call-outs, etc. This just comes w/ practice. So I think he's gonna be a contenda!
