In 2008, 1st in Dutchess Classic( 45 plus), ,st at Excaliber( 45 plus) 2nd at Master National (50 plus). in 2009, 2nd at atlantic States(45 plus), 1st at Garden States(45 plus) 6th at Master Nationals(50 plus) got smoked.Lesson learned, when competing in Masters National you you need to be ripped. I compromised size for condition - bad move

Welcome sweiss! Looks like you've really hit the competition road! Lots of shows in a short period. How hard was it to hold your shape?

Hitting 45 in two months. Competed 5 times in the mid '80's then quit training for a decade and got into cycling. Started dabbling with weights again about five years ago. I like carbs too much to compete again but I'd like to look like I do.

Welcome D_T. I know what you're saying on the carbs.
Unless there's a bench press contest I joined and didn't know about it doesn't matter how much I bench.

Trying to peak three times in 6 weeks was brutal. Quite frankly I will not do it again. I came in too heavy and was totally burned for the Masters. Next year I am doing one show, the North American.

Well, I'm new to here, but not to the iron. After years of back trouble, I had major surgery two years ago and am on my way back to the stage next year in L.A. in July. I look forward to talking to the other, um, "mature" bodybuilders out there for hints on issues specific to our, "experience."
