GirlyMuscle's transformation
I know many people already know my story but I thought for newbies to the site I'd post it in here. I won't go through the whole tale but in a nutshell I was a professional dieter from 16yrs old to 35 yrs old. I tried every diet and gimmick that came down the line. I'd lose a little or a lot but always gain it right back plus some. It was only when I decided to make a change to my lifestyle and stop looking for the magic pill or secret that I lost the weight and changed my body.
Dec 23, 2000. I weighed in at my heaviest. 200 pounds at 5'1". That was the last straw. My fitness journey started and continues to this day. I'll never stop.
The best piece of advice I can give to someone who is just starting out is to get the book Body For Life by Bill Phillips and follow his program. It's the easiest way to learn the lifestyle and get healthy. Once you get the basics down you can expand your knowledge and take on more advanced training as you get more experienced.
One think I think that's important to mention is that this really has to be a lifestyle change....for the rest of your life. You can't approach changing your body is if there's a timeline on it. It's something you will have to do for the rest of your life.
These pictures are a progression of the last 10 years.
First is my 200 pound fat pics back around 2000.
Next to that pic is my "after" from 2003 weighing about 130. (animal print bikini...what was I thinking? LOL).
Over the next couple of years I tried building more muscle so my scale weight went up. Sometimes a little too high as in the next pic. I had just finished bulking and ended up at 173.
At that point I started dieting for a show with the end result being my competition on November 14, 2009 at 135.8 pounds.
Bodybuilding is my passion. I can't foresee a time when I won't bodybuild.

I like to do these comparisons too in order to illustrate the muscle I was able to build.
The first pic was taken in 2003. The second was taken in 2009.

Great story.. I tried every diet scam myself from starving to Atkins.. Even bought products from Infomercials. Remember Fat Trapper and Exercise in a bottle (that's embarrassing to admitting this) LOL

OMG....let's see how many I can remember....
Weight Watchers
Jenny Craig
Physician's Weight Loss
LA Weight Loss
Formu-3
Atkins
South Beach
Just about every pill ever sold
Body by Jake ab machine
Tony Little's Gazelle
Ab Rocker
Cabbage Soup Diet
Carb Counting
Calorie counting
Susan Powter and her no fat diets (cause fat makes you fat don't ya know)
I bought weight sets
Joined numerous gyms
running
I'm sure there's more.
It was only after accepting that was no easy fix, no magic pill, no secret did I pull it all together and get it right. How? Bill Phillips and Body For Life finally drilled it into my thick skull that it has to be a healthy lifestyle change and it's something I'd have to do for the rest of my life. I reminded myself of that daily. This is forever. So it didn't matter how long it took for my outside to change because I'd finally changed my inside.

Thanks, Tim.
Anthony Robbins says, you have to decide to make the change. Once you make that decision everything falls into place. The word decide means...Free from doubt or wavering; determined; of fixed purpose; fully settled; positive; resolute; as, a decided opinion or purpose. To decide means to removal all other possibilities as an outcome.
A real decision is measured by the fact that you've taken a new action. If there's no action, you haven't truly decided. ~Tony Robbins
I'm not saying it's always going to be easy. I had lots to stumbles along the way. What makes the difference now is that every time I fall, I get back up and keep moving forward.
