Quest to lose that Baby FAT
Hey everyone! Some of you may remember me from other places but I was recruited by Sharon to come on over and start posting so here I am! I had my son 14 weeks ago and I am getting back into lifting now. Its been a slow start and I am a hell of a lot weaker than I was but it will all come back to me I am sure.
Right now my training looks like this.
Monday-Full body power
Tues-cardio
Wednesday-pump day
thurs-cardio
friday-high volume
saturday-cardio
sunday-off
I am starting back eating HEALTHIER options and easing into it. I am not going to go back to eating strick as hell like before because I think that triggered binges and I don't want to do that. So I will eat 90% clean.
From what my new gym says (by measurements) the figured I am about 32%BF. I am not sure its that high but whatever.
I started out at 166lbs and today I weighed 162 so 4 lbs this week.
So thats where I am at so far!
Heres my starting point:

This was my workout for Thursday:
Okay so I got to the gym and worked my weak butt out! I can't belive how much strength I have lost...Its crazy! So my first official day back and I am off and running and already FEEL AWESOME...I can't wait to get back in there tomorrow. I have the FEVER again! YEAH!
I did 4 sets of 6 each exercise
squats-90lbs
Trad DL-90 lbs
Seated Calves-35lbs
db bench press-20lbs
Bent over rows (individual)-25lbs per arm
DB Presses-15
Incline curls-15
close grip decline Bench Press-65lbs
Hanging Leg Raises-4x12
I also did 10 minutes on the bike for 4 miles. I cramed in as much cardio as I could before I had to go get Hayden so I feel accomplished.
I didn't eat really well but lunch and dinner weren't bad. I was really rushed this am so I had cereal. I am throwing out all the bad food though as soon as I go grocery shopping for the coming up week!Last edited by amandagano; 02-28-2009 at 07:57 AM. Reason: forgot recent pic

I totally WISH that my AVI was a recent pic but that however is before...what I am hoping to get back to...that was just a month or so before I got preggers. I figured if I saw that everytime I post that it would be great motivation.
I feel good about what I am doing, I have dropped 4lbs this week (good old kick start week).
I am so sore from Thursday's workout but I got to the gym yesterday. I have like ZERO stamina but I did as much cardio as I could before going to get Hayden.
I got in 10 minutes on the bike (which I hate, I figured I would do the one that I seem to find the hardest so I build up my endurance and push muscles that I don't often push) and 15 on the stepper. I had my heartrate up to 174 on the stepper...It felt so good! I feel better than I did when I was totally fit before because STUPID me was smoking. So I have been quit over a year now and that is a great feeling. Hayden helped me with many of my problems without even realizing it. He is my little miracle!
I know this has NOTHING to do with training but I got WAY more sleep last night.
My sweet boy is DEPENDENT on a paci to sleep...well I started breaking him of it. After 30 minutes or more of screaming not wanting to fall asleep without it I layed him down in his swing and he slept there till 2:30 (He normally co-sleeps) and I didn't have to get him till 2:30-6:30 and he didn't toss and turn like he normally does keeping me up all night.
I think that this is going to be a big step to me being able to get him to sleep in his own crib. WISH ME LUCK!!!
I am going to do some outdoor's activities today instead of going to the gym. I am going to POWER walk the gym with Hayden strapped to me...and he is nearly 15 lbs so thats a workout in itself!

What an adorable baby and I bet you're an awesome new mom! Is he your first? You will kick ass at getting back into shape I'm sure. I think it's awesome you're not sitting around like so many new mom's do just kind of letting yourself go. I think it's great you're up and at it again so soon after the baby has been born as well. Good luck and can't wait to see what's in store for you! There are LOTS of great lady's here who can offer advice as well as I'm sure you know...
Congrats!

Wow, I wished I'd looked like you do back when my kids were that little, lol. It always took me quite a bit longer to get back in the game than that. Not a bad place to start from at all. This will be a breeze.

I feel very blessed! I don't know if it is because I was in such good shape BEFORE I got pregnant or genetics...but if you saw my parents you would know its probably NOT GENETICS...;o)
I don't want it to get outta control like I have before and I think that its more important than ever to live a healthy life. I want Hayden to grow up healthy so it isn't hard for him like it is on me later in life.

Thanks...I am sure going to try! Hayden is our first we tried for him for 3 years and when I started concentrating on training for a competition...low and behold little mister comes along ;o)
I am sure I will needs lots of guidance...its true if you don't use it you loose it. I feel like I am starting over brand new. So much has changed!!!!

So today I have done really well with my eating and even though I am THOUROUGHLY sore I am going to do my workout today. I hope that I get a little more used to working out again cause my LEGS ARE STILL on fire!
I don't remember them being this sore the first time I started working out again. I love the burn but I can barely bend my legs to walk like a normal person and I did that workout THURSDAY! I think I will have to warm them up on the treadmill or something first cause I am doing full body workouts so LEGS every other day...whew...thats gonna burn!

Hey you are starting and thats all that matters! I can understand waiting...I would have kept right on waiting but honestly my sweet husband gained "baby weight" too and he has been having headaches and I think that it has something to do with his weight gain so I want to do it together and make it liveable for us all. So we can teach hayden good eating habits at a young age.
Hayden is 3months will be 4 on the 18th! I can't wait till he PLAYS more...with toys and stuff!

It is pretty darn bad! I wish that we had a step mill...that must be for those fancy smancy gyms ;o)!
I have tried a step mill twice but that was back in my scrawny eating disorder days and that thing KILLED ME!!!!!
But I bet it would get my badunk-adunk in shape!

That stepmill will kill anyone, not just a scrawny eating disordered person! So glad you don't do that anymore! When I use the stepmill, I alternate between thinking I'm OK and thinking I'm going to die!

Thats good to know Kelly...now I don't know if I EVER wanna try it again
lol
I would start out and feel really weak make it a while and then I would be like oh this isn't so bad when you get used to it then you nearly fall of the back because you can't keep up...yup...remember those days as if it were yesterday!
I am happy I am not like that anymore either. I liked my body back then but not happy the way I did it. ;o)

Just think. Your son will get to be embarassed by his friends when he's older when they say "Dude! Your Mom is HOT".
