Seriously, RIP 19th. For all it's bullshit, it was a good gym. Probably the best in the city.
I went to Steel when I first moved back. Sad that that is as good as we can do for a gym in NYC. It's got the freaks and the casual juiceheads, but it's cramped as hell (with good equipment) and there's no tan/steam/sauna. The front desk dick wouldn't even bother to acknowledge me the first time I went in to ask about membership. This town needs a kick ass Worlds or Golds or something like the good gyms out in Vegas.

Sorry it took me so long to respond to this. My comments were in reference to the members picked up from 19th street gym. I didn't see ANY bodybuilders come from 19th Street gym to Steel. I honestly can not comment on the management style of that place as I was never a member. I can tell you that the ownership & management team at Steel gym are quality people. I used the term "interesting" to be polite about the 19th Street gym refugees that I encountered. It's one of those things that you would have to experience to really understand. Not sure if you're a 19th street gym member that may have taken offence to my comments. If so, I'm just calling it as I see it.
