MgGwire is a dumbass. He treated us like none of us had a clue, but when it came time for the committee in the baseball Hall of Fame to vote him out for the second straight year, he comes clean.
We're a pretty forgiving society, but to say that you "shouldn't have played in the "Steroid Era" only indicates that you're sorry you got caught and that you had to lie to Congress, your fans, the media, your family and yourself to weasel yourself out of trouble.
I would like to see Mark back in baseball, but not in the Hall of Fame.http://forums.rxmuscle.com/showthread.php?t=28840

What is so funny is to think about the records that have been broken by athletes while using steroids since the 1960's. Think of all the waste of tax money that would be to pull all the professional athletes from the past into court for steroid use. Damn what a joke, that our system cares more about what someone does to enhance their body and ability to become better at what they enjoy and less time trying to increase the quality of life and reduce more serious things like narcotic mind altering drugs and disease.

He didn't belong in the HOF anyway. 1600 careeer hits? Good for him for finally admitting it though. Like we didn't know.

I think he realized that his best shot of ever making the Hall of Fame was to admit his steroid use. I mean, he wasn't even close to getting voted in at the most recent writer's vote. The writers will slowly begin to reconsider his induction now, even though it will still take him several (possibly many) years to get in.

Exactly, it's all just a sad attempt at damage control, he actually is the hitting coach now for I beleive the cardinals? But the hall of fame is going to continue to be a stretch, mostly because he did not come out initially and admit i.e. any pettite. Either way, hopefully this will at least continue to close the chapter on that "era".
