It helps many of the smaller stabilizer muscles and to ensure you hit all three heads of the shoulder.
It will also hit the brachialis / brachioradalis in your arms with enough reps.
This one pumps my shoulders and gives me that visual feedback we all desire, so its a great reason to like them.

Mac,
I tried the goal posts as a finishing exercise yesterday for shoulders. I only used 15 pounds and I really felt it. You can teach and "old" dog new tricks.
