I believe you've hit the nail on the head, sir. If I were someone who fell into the category of a fat slob, it would make sense to me to have some inspiration or measure of what I'd like to obtain. They should turn their so called black card which gives the idea of a hardcore atmosphere into maybe a pink card with rainbows coming out of below average Joe's ass.

The one I was a member of stopped the dumbbells at 70.
Leg press was missing posts to keep you from putting on too much weight.
    No squat rack.
    No incline bench.
I was told by a staff member that their corporate policy forbids protein drinks.
The local one here doesn't have dumbbells above 55lbs.

...But they make up for it with free pizza on Mondays.

I read a sci-fi story a long time ago which was set in the future. In this particular future, the government had enacted laws forbidding people to "outdo" other people. Everyone was legally bound to be equal. If someone was strong or fast, they chained heavy chains on his body to make him weaker and less athletic. If someone was beautiful, they made her wear a mask to disguise the beauty.

No one was allowed to display any talents that others did not have.

EVERYTHING was catered to the lowest common denominator.

But that was just a story. Silly fiction.

That's ridiculous on all points. No protein shakes? I guess they promote their mentality through the consumption of carbs and fat. Protein is taking it far too close to steroids (facepalm). LOL.

Through high fructose corn syrup actually. Their drink cooler is stocked with full sugar soft drinks. Dr Pepper, Mountain Dew, and Red Bull. But if you're a black card member (an extra 10 bucks a month) you get to have these post workout manna drinks at half price.
