Would this flavoring in my whey kick me out of ketosis?
I was thinking about ordering the Premium flavor cold-filteration whey isolate from true protein and emailed one of there chemist about the ingredients used in the flavoring, this is what I got back:
"The Premium flavors will use Acesulfame Potassium and Sucralose as the sweeteners, however Maltodextrin is sprayed on to the materials as a carrier. The amount uses is entirely minimal however, and the total carbohydrate content for the material will add less than a single gram of carbs to each shake. The caloric content will also fall below 10cals per serving."
The whey itself has 0 grams of carbs and I was going to take 150 grams a day. Would I be ok taking this shake that many times a day or should I just order a different whey? Thanks.

it is not likely to kill you to have a couple carbs per scoop, just try to minimize it and watch your macros.

Yeah no matter what you hear, carbs are not as harmful as anthrax

Don't they have some sort of testers for ketosis you can buy and pee on. You could always get those and see for yourself.

Agreed. One carb a scoop isn't going to fuck with you.
LOL
These are garbage. They only detect ketones that are excreted in the urine. If your body uses all of the ketones, then they will not be excreted in urine and therefore the strips wont read correctly.

Ya they do but they are meant for diabetics who do not know that they have diabetes. Diabetics often have uncontrolled ketones in the blood due to the highly gluconeogeneic environment that they are in. As this ketones build up they will eventually spill into the urine as the body is not utilizing them. Then the test will detect them.
If you keep your carb intake below roughly 125g/day than you will stay in ketosis. 125g has been recognized in countless studies as the amount of intake needed to prevent ketosis from happening to individuals. So to promote ketosis you would have to do the opposite
Sucralose and Ace K are both non-nutritive sweeteners (They may be partially digested by the body but that would only give you maybe 1.5-2.5cal/g). If you are keeping the rest of your diet in check then you will be ok.

I've used those exact TP premium flavorings while doing dave's keto diet with success. It did not affect my ketosis one bit.
