Is my Dietetics teacher correct?
we are on the chapters on fats and carbs right now and my teacher stated today "that sugar does not cause you to put on fat or lead too diabetes. The only draw back from eatting sugars is cavity's. Is this true Dave?
Is anyone in college in the health fields fine the mainstream is so far behind bodybuilding when it comes to nutrition and excersing?

Be an asshole, print out 40-50 studies on diabeties (type2), insulin resistance and sugar metabolism, and present it to him in front of your class.
When I was in school, I did my final paper on the textbooks we studied being wrong and or inaccurate. They didn't really like it, but it was correct, and I got a 96% on it.
Oh, school etc is behind basically because of two things.
1/Science moves faster than textbooks can be updated
2/People can be very stuck in their ways, and its easier to be wrong, than stay with the learning curve

hhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahahahahaahahahahaha. ok. to the question. yes, sugar does cause more than just cavities. when you really look at processed carbohydrates, cavities are the least of the worries. your post makes me incredibly glad i didn't pick nutrition as a major. i would have spent half the classes screaming at the professor. want a nutrition education? read anything from the weston a price foundation.

And this is why we have 60% and growing (literally) and doctors continue to prescribe every drug under the sun, but a not common sense diet. In fact most health/fitness professionals won't touch prescribing a diet unless they are qualified "dieticians" because of the liability.
With this teacher's help, all those fine ass females will be fat ass females in about 10 yrs.
