Spray Tanning - not for competition
Has anyone gone to the salon to get a spray tan? I was thinking of doing this rather than baking for the next couple of weeks, but am afraid of turning orange or having it wear off so that I look scaly. lol

I seriously avoid the sun. I climb IN my coffin at sunrise. So when I "had" to tan late last year, I opted for a spray tan. Well, I got a big ring worm on my thigh, about 4 weeks out from a show. The color lasted about 7 days and the ring worm 3 weeks

I would like to know others experiences with spray tan too. It seems much more simpler than having my hubby "paint" me days in a row! I over heard a girl at a show last year say she got spray tan...I really wasn't impressed with her color though. Maybe it was just her skin tone?

sal you wanna tan for the ac, id be glad to help you.
mystic tan is nice, but the funky smell deosnt go away. i did spray tan at my salon for awhile and it was hard to find a good color that people were happy with. but then again, i am sure they have gotten better over time.APS HI TECH PHARMACEUTICALS ATHLETE

I wasn't happy with spray tans. I didn't feel it was dark enough. I tan easily, too, and two-three times in a tanning bed was better than the spray thing.

I love mystic tan.... love love love it. I do about two a month, one every 2 weeks just to bump up my color and tone.

Why not use MT-2?

I did mystic tan once - like 3 layers of it - for the price I wasn't impressed. I think in the future they are going to "outlaw" these sorts of systems where you're blasted w/ the spray stuff in an enclosed area. I dont' know how well they are ventilated.
For just simple spray on, I still like Neutrena Mist (or whatever its called). Primarily because I can spray myself w/ pretty good luck. I can't do the foam stuff and get my back evenly.
Otherwise I think JanTana or Protan have 'every day tan' (non competition) products.

Spray tans are really popular here. Occassionally I get sprayed with a brand called 'techno tan'...in the chocolate brown colour. I think the secret is finding somebody who does alot of them and is really good at it.

I do Mystic Tan in the summer- I'm only about one shade darker than Casper- and I love it. I didn't notice that I smelled funny. Hopefully, neither did anybody else. I've not had any problems with it looking scaly, either. My favorite part about it is that you're in & out in just a few minutes, and don't have to get all sweaty & gross then put clothes back on.
