Make sure you exfoliate really well prior to any kind of spray tan or faux tan. I love the new one from l'oreal 360 amazing drys super fast you can apply your whole body in like under 5 minutes. I also have my own spray tan machine at home but that feels like a production to get it out etc. I got it cause I have pretty much stopped using tanning beds since my last contest. I will use them again but only like a month prior to contest for a nice base tan before the protan.

Re: Spray Tanning - not for competition
Spray tanning is a form of sunless tanning that many people perceive to be a safe alternative to a natural sun tan. This perception spread widely. This is due to the FDA's statement that dihydroxyacetone is safe when applied directly on the skin.
The benefits of spray tans:
Firstly, you can get a tan in any part of the world, especially if you live with cold climates when the sun does not break through the clouds very much at all.
Secondly, you do not have to go to a tanning salon in order to have a tan applied, though this is certainly an option as well. Going to the salon can ensure an more even coverage, especially if you have not had much practice yourself.
Thirdly, spray tans require little hand contact and sprays on evenly rather than streaking or blotching as many lotions and creams have a tendency to do.

Mystic tan HD has some fragrance ad ons, I tried it with ad ons twice, and it was nice, no funky smell.

Mystic is nice, but expensive! Some tanning places also have these UVB free beds. You get a tan thats like tanning 7 times, but you dont get the harmful rays.
I kind of do both. I buy a self tanner and tan about once every 2 weeks. A spray/foam self tanner is great, but get one that says scent free, cause those jokers stink. LOL And about once every 2 weeks I will lay in a bed for about 10 mins, just to keep everything even!

I agree with Tammy......the funky smell is so gross and you feel gross around others....plus I have learned that if you dont lotion right after then you can end up looking like you have mega freckles all over your body which is needless to say embarrassing....that machine spit it out bad and I paid for it for days!
Also, sometimes the color is just not right for your skin type, I kno0w one gal who is a bit umpa-loompa like from it!
IMO!

I used jantanna and fake bake before both lasted only a week or so at most which sux. You've got to maintain those fake tans just like a real one. I didnt mind the smell of either as I dont think they had a foul odor. These were the paint on mind u not the spray. I figured I could buy the whole bottle for the same price as one spray and get multiple uses out of it.
both looked great btw, the jantanna was of course super dark but I'd apply at night let it sit in then wash in the morning and get the majority of the super darkness outLast edited by MightyMetcalf; 04-05-2011 at 04:04 PM.

QUICK TAN tanning mist (sunless tanner) by BODY DRENCH. you can buy it online and it's a spray can, GREATEST COLOR EVER. AMANDA LEFT IT IN MY HOTEL ROOM AT TEAM U, AND I PUT IT ON. it's the best thing ever. and you can put it on yourself, no rubbing it in, just spray it on all over.
