understanding various training methods

Q. i always wondered how everybody gets caught in to one single training method.
-why dont people listen to their bodies and combine all different training methods?
-i love dc training, fst-7, high volume, low volume, high intensity, low intensity. i believe that people dont realize that all training methods have their perpose in our daily lives. one cant simply use the same training style everysingle day of their lives. sometimes you need to utilize low intensity, sometimes one may be able to train with high intensity. some times low volume, and sometimes high volume.
my point is; all training methods work at certain times. we should be more concerned on learning to listen to our bodies rather than get hooked with "fst-7" bec hany rombad trains jay cutler and it works for him.
-are there any books on "how to listen to our bodies"?

Well, I don't buy the "everything works" thing. Maybe for some, especially intermediates. But when you've been training hard over 20 years, most things don't work. Very little does, unless you start juicing heavily. I have to hit it hard and heavy and brutalize an exercise to get gains at this point. If I could get gains off easier, lighter or more fun stuff, I'd do it in a minute. Yeah I could get a good workout in, and maybe even a good pump, but gains are a different story....
