39 about to hit 40..starting to feel the difference!
I had stopped training for several months, and am 39 years old. Just the other day, I trained again for the first time. I felt aches and pains in my arm tendons that i've never felt before, and I can't remember ever injuring them either. At least my physique hasn't really measureable deteriorated...

welcome to old age, my friend!
That's why I never take time off, I am afraid of what will happen when I start back!

Don't let age be an excuse! I'm still training just as hard as ever and can train guys 15 years younger than me into the ground.
Training smart applies to bodybuilders of any age.

I'm definitely not letting it be an excuse! The problem is that its difficult for me to train without going 'all out'. With aches and pains, sometimes this isn't he best thing. I'll be in the best shape of my life by the time I hit 40 and will probably compete in a master's competition somewhere.

Don't train with aches and pains. You can still go all out - just train around them. If certain exercises hurt find ones that don't. Remember there are no good or bad exercises just good and bad ways of performing them.

In fact, look at me and Bill Grant in my avi (Picture taken this last weekend at the Arnold). Bill is 62 and I'm 51. We both have had pain issues and have found ways to train without further aggrevating those injuries and grow in the process.

I feel the difference a little more each year. Somethings hurt more this year than last year. You just deal with it and move on.
