Low HDL
Ive been on HRT for 5 years now at 200 mg test per week and now down to 150 mg per week. the doctor says my HDL (good) cholesterol is to low and that is a risk for heart disease. by taking synthetic testosterone in it will lower your good cholesterol. I have been thinking about taking niacin to raise the HDL.
My total cholesterol is 136 even when eating junk food. My cholesterol has always been low. My LDL is low. But my HDL is 26 and normal is 40-60.
Is there anyone here who is on HRT and has had this problem and solved it?

I think most everyone on HRT has that to some degree. Usually not from that low of an amount though. Go to the Chem section and ask Heavy Iron.

Im sure you exercise since you are on this forum. That is an excellent natural way to raise it. Also you could drink red wine because the resveratrol. But the amount you would have to drink is pretty large so itd probably be in your best interest to just supplement it.
Nicotinic acid (1.5-3g/day) can also increase HDL 15-35%.
Also whats your overall diet look like?

my diet is basically an offseason diet. I eat the normal amount of Protein, carbs for a bodybuilder plus junk food. I eat about 70% clean. My total cholesterol has always been low even when eating fast food 6 times per day as when i was younger. but i never payed attention to my HDL until recently.

Screw your doctor. My cholesterol is naturally low, too, and I don't care about their 'heart disease' threat. We're all going to die of something, sheesh. At least it won't be coronary artery disease! lol
I eat tons of steak, but not as much fish as I should.
As long as you're getting a test booster, though, you don't need to worry about having low cholesterol.

This is something that kick-starting a cycle with orals could do. Testosterone isn't one of the AAS known to affect lipds much. I know people on gear and it's mainly the people who use orals that get this type of side.

I am on TRT,and have done cycles and I used to have a low HDL.I fixed it by a change in diet The key is to eat animal proteins that are fed what they are supposed to be eating. It will cost more, but you get what you pay for. I consume 32 egg's per day, I changed them to omega 3 eggs, and that raised my HDL. I changed my steaks to grass fed, that also raised it. I eat true wild game, and only clean wild sea food. It makes all the difference in the world. Grain fed animals have a low PH,making it a ideal environment for disease. Much like a human who only consumes junk food.
