Rx Muscle on Spike TV???

I honestly think that a show about bodybuilding could go either way, anatomy, lifting and dudes flexing; boring to the average viewer... "Illegal drug use," dieting and fitness advice, watching people in excruciating pain, and people with short tempers due to low cal diets could create enough drama for something the general population might enjoy if its done in the right context...

I hope not. Spike Tv is the complete tool network. With exception to a few shows that channel seems like it was specifically made to cater to frat houses.

I already have a submission at Spike TV for a reality show based in a gym. Bravo has the lesbo/gay gym theme - I thought a similar theme in a more hardcore gym would be better... and probably draw more people.

We'll probably see my idea in swing at some Planet Fitness now.

I pitched this with some insider Hollywood contacts years ago. Sorta a "Grays Anatomy shot inside The Mecca". It had traction for about a week.

It looks like a cheap and cheesy show.. I liked it better when it was in Dave's house.. that small room just made for better entertainment.. now, the studi oenviriment has made everyhthing clinical and stale!

Plus, it would be a ratings FLOP in it's current state!

Bodybuilding survived for years on cable TV until the recent steroid witch hunt. But what do you think would happen if some cable network was bold enough to restart a bodybuilding show, whether it was prime time or not? Everyone automatically assumes it would get blasted and fail, but what if it didnt and turned out receptions like it used to? Just something to think about.
