Carb foods that induce too much water
Here's my situation:
I have a young girl prepping for her first contest and her prep week is arriving in less than a month. I'm concerned that when she does a small load of carbs, there will be a possibility of smoothing her out because she tells me that certain times of the week-she's smoother than other times and that usually entails a higher carb day.
My question is are there carb foods-complex or otherwise, that will NOT induce too much smoothing especially during her peak week? We're having a problem pinpointing exactly which ones do it, but I am guessing her whole grain bread that she feels she needs to have.
Any help on listing what potentially help and hinder would be of great help for me.
Thanks in advance.

Sweet potatoe is a carb which I find does not make me hold much water. In fact I carb load with it for my carb up before my comps. She should stay completely away from any breads, even multi grain ones....I find any bread will give me some bloat.

There are a few variables that contribute to which carbs bloat more than others. A few are:
-Digestibility (for instance - potatoes for many people digest more efficiently than grains)
-sodium (carboHYDRATES + excess sodium is a recipe for water weight gain)
-allergen content (if a food is highly allergic or you have a specific intolerance to say gluten or oats, it will likely cause bloating and indigestion).
encourage her to take the time and experiment to find which carb sources accommodate the best combination of the above-mentioned variables.
