Editorial Reviews
" Product Description
A behind-the-scenes look at the underground world of bodybuilding, this exposé is a tragic tale of drugs, murder, and self-destruction. Detailing Gregg Valentino’s fame as “the man whose biceps exploded,” this portrayal reveals how he quickly rose to the top of the weight-lifting scene, becoming both a spokesman for the sport and a celebrity among fans.
***This account also discusses how he crossed into the illegal world of steroids and drugs—becoming the biggest supplier of Steris products in the United States***
—and how his world of sex, drugs, and money came crashing down when his girlfriend died from a drug overdose and he was arrested. A gripping, uncensored story about a muscle-worshipping culture, this provocative, harrowing biography uncovers the dark and dangerous world of steroid use and drug dealing. "

On MD s forums, the lack of a REAL leader in bb ing today ( like Arnold was in his day ) is discussed. In this context, some MD forumists, amazingly points out GV as " one,,,of the leaders that bb ing needs ( mark the word "needs " ) today..."
Personally I find those claims to be absoloutely lunatic. Just look at the PR campaign for his new book ;***becoming the biggest supplier of Steris products in the United States***....,,,,,
WOW ( not that anyone is making any real comparisons to Arnold at all,,,but Imagine Arnold PR ing one of his books in this fashion. Say no more.
But thats my take.
Lets vote.
And discuss....

Why give him attention at all?

NO. I see him in no way associated with the sport other than an anomaly, who once competed many years ago. He's a disgrace to the sport, and give a negative connotation of steroid abuse that is not that common, or extreme in the IFBB or NPC
Keep Ritch Banned. FOR-EVER.
Un-Ban SKELETOR though, yo.

^^^ this.. rewarding someone that disfigures themselves by giving them the attention they are clearly after does little to curb their need to continue..
on a side note.. i think it should be written into law that greg isnt allowed to say the words body building.. balance.. symmetry.. out loud or he gets arrested..

exactly.. steroids.. he blames that train wreck of a physique on steroids.. im sorry but NO ONE in this sport could possibly believe that lots and lots of gear did that nasty shit.. if that were the case my left tricep would be enormous! if he would grow some balls and admit that that shit is NOT from gear or site injection "growth" and own the fact he was pounding synthol i would stop wishing he would spontaneously combust.. there are not enough adjectives to convey my disgust with that pile of shit seriously

Well first, in Sweden we dont believe that all PR is good PR.
Secondly, its interesting to see the POLL results on RX. On MD enough people are protecting him, to make a poll more or less impossible ?!!.
I believe bbings destiny is/will be determined now/soon ( if its not to late already ), and it could be absoloutely brutal. As long as books like the above hits the market today, I believe its imperative to discuss, and here the bbing communites REAL take on this.

well the reason for this is simple... he works for MD.. steve protects him even though hes clearly a useless sack of oil filled skin. if you fuck with him he is the kind of scum bag that will drag your personal life all over the damn place.. he has the moral integrity of a serial killer. he is.. to date.. the only .. thing.. i have met online that i would literally beat the shit out of in person.. in fact i actively.. looked for him in ohio for the sole purpose of making his ass the next big exxon disaster.. he was not there unfortunately.. people at MD have seen that fuckin moron get away with things that ANYONE else would be permanently banned for.. you will NOT see the greg bashing.. on the rare occasion it happens he has the post/thread removed almost immediately

Gregg, just like anyone else, has the propensity to be a good PERSON. Ive seen him do many a selfless thing and he does them without calling attention to himself.
But that doesnt mean he doesnt have a wong side, and it also doesnt mean he is good people for the bodybuilding world and or industry. He is a liar of epic proportions who has proven over and over again that he is willing to tell the most miniscule of lies to further himself. Given those facts, I wouldnt put it past him to have made up or embellished much of what is in that book. Gregg is a dipshit, but he is no dumbass, and he knows that his over the top noteriety is what is keeping his pockets lined. The only way he is a leader is because he tells people who possess IQs smaller than single digits that he is one. And he does it over and over again. Lets not forget the many thousands of so called regular people who have followed idiots such as David Koresh and Jim Jones to their deaths. If some people are really willing to do that for someone who TELLS you what he is, then I am not surprised that there are people defending him.
Once again....a good PERSON? Yes. A leader and a representive of the sport? No fucking way. Those are not muscles he has, those are .....lord knows what the fuck the are. He changes stories more often than he wipes his ass so who the hell knows. All I know is that I can put on a muscle suit and then be just as qualified as Mr. Valentino to be a leader and or spokesman for the sport.

He is not the spokesperson bb needs. We need a Pro to go to hollywood and become the new action star.
