Most plates don't actually weigh 45lbs, the only weights that you can guarantee to weight what they say are the calibrated kilo plates that are used for competitions.
    exactly

Actually now I think about it. The dumbells at my gym are heavy too. Thats why I don't lift as much as I think I should. That must be it.
I always imagined they did it for mental reasoning. Alot of strength in the gym, those who don't have the mindset that says "today, I'm gona lift heavier than I ever have before", just those people who pick a number, like say they know they can do 225 for 4, they'll go into bev's, they'll do that weight, but they've actually done more. That's what I always thought the reasoning was.

most plates are off, at my gym every fuckin plate is off becasue no matter wat weight i have on the bar it always feels uneven. If im curling i do 1 set and then the next set i switch the weights to opposite ends and surely the side that wasnt heavier before is heavier now lol. I think my gym is just a pieice of shit and since people throw the weights they get chipped and therefore lighter lol.

Just put the goddamn thing on the scale if you people are there so often. It's not rocket science.

They don't do it purposefully, that's just how it is, some plates get made and they turn out heavy, and some turn out light

I was just kind of busting balls with GM....someone has weighed the plates the bevs.

Some overly concerned powerlifter/bodybuilder over the years took the time to weigh a bunch of the plates and I'm told they averaged between 47-48 each. The plates there are unique in that they are not only a little too heavy, but also shorter in diameter then you usually get.

Most people that visit the gym for a workout or two usually end up coming up with some BS to tell themselves as to why they couldnt lift as much: Im traveling, im dieting, I was out of my element, etc. In reality, they were really just lifting heavier weights.

somebody should weigh a few on camera and post it. if 47-48 lbs is true that is some shitty quality control on the manufacturers part.

Then if that's true it's true in any gym, not just Bev's.

I was sort of thinking the same thing. If someone pulled a pec doing bench, thinking they were pressing 315, when it's actually 320-330, they could sue either the gym, or the plate maker for false advertising.

It's not the weights at all. It's the force, and it is strong at Bev's. It goes in line with not maxing out a machine on your first set no matter how strong you are. You DON"T upset the gym gods with your arrogance. Period.

Bevs Plates are deff heavier and they have been weighed this is nothing new Daves been saying this for years .My friend Jeff Long will do vids there he also told me personally that they were heavier . He said 315 felt alot diff then it normally does. I believe the plates are closer to 50 lbs then 45

At the gym I train at you can take five labeled 45 lb plates from a rack and they will all feel different. Different thickness, weight, circumference sp?? whatever the case they are not the same. Bottom line unless they are weighed 45 lb plates are not what you think they are!!! A huge disappointment I know but deal I guess you just have to deal with it and lift!!!
