Who else here hates training partners??
I have to say that its very hard to find someone..who is as serious and as motivated as you, who shows up on time cause thats half the battle...Since i started training i have probably had at least 15 training partners...2,3 really good the rest preaty bad..I prefer to train alone and sometimes i need an occasional spot there is usually someone around that can help...maybe its my fault though cause i want to train at the time that i want, i dont want to wait for anyone, i dont want to reschedule or restructure my training for anyone else...again an occasional workout is one thing but i usually end up wanting to strangle the other person if it become a regular thing!!! I get suckered into it too, usually its a guy whos semi serious just starting out that invites themselves and asks..."hey lets workout together" or "what time are you training"...what can you say?? I even hint that i like to train alone but i guess they're not hearing me...lol i know im fucking rambling but im sure some people on here have similar experiences!!

I have gotten used to working out alone and like it. There are a few people from the forums I'd love to train with, but as for people where I live - no. lol
During my last prep, I had a really out of shape woman ask to train with me and I turned her down, which of course hurt her feelings. I tried to explain that I was prepping for a show, but that didn't matter to her. She just thought I was a bitch.

yes..people get offended, you try to explain..tell them you're prepping whatever the case may be...with me its also acquaintances that i know that train and ask to train with me..i tell them trust me..we'll get along much better if we dont train together...sometimes i come to the gym in a bad mood (stress from work, relationships, etc) and i might not say two words to anyone, let alone have to deal with a training partner

depends on the individual...off-season i dont mind a training partner...but i'm noticing my friend who wants to train with me now, while i'm prepping, is slowing me down a lot...then again, my other friend who's also prepping for a show is someone i wouldn't mind as a training partner at this point LOL just depends if they're gonna push you or not.

I've more or less worked out by myself for the 4+ years I've been doing it. The one person I train with once in a blue moon is very close to the same strength so it can make workouts better.

I am fortunate to have a really great training partner. We've been training together consistently for the past 4 years. He's not a bodybuilder (he's actually a rower), but he's reliable, trains hard, and is really supportive of my own competitive goals. We train together all the time during my offseason and through most of my prep. But usually toward the end of my prep, we go our separate ways for a few weeks until after my show. It works because I'm super high-strung and he's really laid back, so he just goes along with whatever I have up my sleeve, and he's not offended by my pre-contest moodiness, either.

I always prefer to lift without a partner, though having other people around to spot and shit is always a plus (helps out doing negatives/forced reps/etc.) .. out of all the training partners I've gone through there were one or two who I could train with and not bite their heads off, but no one's ever consistent enough and I end up going back to trainin alone

Finding the perfect training partner is key. I love having a training partner and have had a few good ones. I recently found a new one and can say its been the best 3 weeks of training I have ever had. We both show up on time and give it 100%. He has been working with a gym coach who now coaches us and I feel like I have trained even smarter and tried new things that will help me improve this year. He keeps up a good pace with me now that Im close to my show. We are both on the same page. I love it!

I haven't trained with anyone else consistently in about 3 years... I've made my best progress doing so.
I train with a guy every now and then, but honestly, I don't get as much out of it as I do training alone... too much rest between sets, too much talking, and I don't end up pushing the end of the workout as much as I like to.
