I never really had one other than when I first started out, but I think a good one may help me at this point as being my motivation has been so low recently

i usually train alone because i dont want to wait on flaky people or train with someone that thinks its time to bs rather than lift. i did train this weekend with someone very focused and i have rethought the evils of training partners lol he and i will most likely start lifting together regularly now

Don't feel bad- I HAVE to brush off (nicely, though...) people wanting "spots" on huge benches, guys wanting to chat between sets (I don't wait as long as them), girls wanting advice/chatting. It's either we all work out or be like all of "them"... who NEVER change month after month looking the same.
Like you, a lot of the people here look like better choices than people in the gym!

Never really had a training partner for more than a couple months. There was this guy that trained with me...except for leg day, of course. He used to try keeping up with the same weights that I used and wound up hurting himself and using terrible form. I'm not really that strong, but he was weak. I hated working with him because he used terrible form and when I would tell him how to correct it and avoid injury, he would not listen. He hasn't worked out ever since.

I used to prefer training alone but then I found what was for me the perfect training partner. She couldnt lift as much but her intensity and dedication were second to none that Ive ever met in all my years of training. Its doubly hard to find someone now because of all the oddball exercises i do and the pace I set..... but Im not giving up hope on finding another. And yes, Id love for that one to be female. Just something I see and sense in both female clients and fellow trainees that indicate a higher level of dedication when they do set their minds to it. In my experience guys talk a big game, women seem more prone to just doing it.

Depends. I've had some that I just had to tell it's over, mostly because they just fucking talked too much.
I enjoy working out alone, but I've also got a trainning partner that is around half the time. He travels for work, but when he's around, he's a good trainning partner. I'll probably train alone over the summer, cuz he's got a ton of gigs lined up.

If you have shitty training partners - they hold you back. If you have motivated guys - they take you to new levels that you could not achieve on your own. I have a group here in the 619 I train with - 2 guys in particular we hit every workout together. We have another 1-2 guys who join us on various days - the workouts are crazy, and we push each other further and further each time.
I know for a fact I couldn't have pushed myself as far by myself.

i've been blessed with incredible training partners
Powerlifting legend Doug Young
multi time Mr.Canada Dave Simpson
Overall & Lt Hvy Champion BB Jules Russell
IFBB Pro Darren Toma
Figure Champions Karolina Pawlak & Tiffany Vik
and my current training partners
Figure Champion Keashia Wester
for leg training partner IFBB Pro Carlos Rabiei
finding a good one is worth their weight in Gold
but hard to find for sure
i have a times in my life i had to train alone
but the best training i've done is with great partners
I have been and am truely blessed
i will always seek out a great one
like when i had the opportunity a few months ago to train legs with Carlos
i take all of tues off just to drive to another town to train with him
cuz it's worth it to me
and getting to train with him is a Godsend and is making all the difference in my leg development and my prep for nationals this year
i always give credit where credits due
and it's because of these people in my life
they've made me better than i would have been without them... no question
THANK GOD FOR TRAINING PARTNERS ~ BLESS THEM

ps: saying you hate training partners
is like saying you hate women cuz you got fucked around
it's who you're with that makes them suck or great

My wife is my training partner, we have the same work ethic. A buddy of mines asked(begged) me to help him with his workouts. I agreed, that was two weeks ago and already left me stranded at the gym twice. So i rather workout with ol' lady or alone.
