Koscheck has introduced a new style of martial arts to the MMA areana.
It is called Wet Blanket Jitsu. You just lay on the guy and smother him like a wet blanket. Don't land strikes or improve position, just hold them down and lay on em. Works everytime.

I was happy to see Shogun beat Machida so handily, I really thought he won the first fight with those brutal body kicks. I was a little suprised Koscheck actually followed the game plan long enough to not get KO'd. I don't like Koscheck (even though he is the hometown hero) but Daley really did a disservice to the sport with that cheap shot. Oh yeah, Kimbo who?

daly is a douche. I watched the pre fight stuff and couldnt decide who was a bigger douche. I was rooting for Kos just because hes from PA. After he faked the knee to the head I started pullin for Daly but then he had to go and douche it up some more. Overall, shitty fight they should just let GSP retain the belt and find a better contender.

he used that strategy 6 years ago @ the start of his career. He was called "The Blanket" as a result. Now, people are starting to call GSP a blanket as well.
GSP outwrestled Koscheck their first match, but, I've heard rumors that Kos had an injury leading up to / during that fight. I'm not sure how much it came into play.
I think GSP vs Kos II will be one of the most hyped fights we've seen in a long time b/c of GSP/Kos being coaches on The Ultimate Fighter, and Kos is clearly already starting to play the 'heel' role.

IMO Itīs not Koscheckīs fault if other fighters r so crappy at grappling that they cannot escape from under him, not his fault that others suck. And i donīt like Koscheck at all, but after all this is MMA, not "head punching contest". Control opponent from offensive position and win the fight.

Just done watching the Daley/Koscheck fight, and what the hell is wrong with that scumbag Daley? First the illegal knee (whether or not it hit, its still illegal!) and hitting koscheck after the bell, thats disgraceful!

Exposed, my ass. What a shitty (and incorrect) comment that I have seen over and over since saturday. He's faced guys that came in more aggressive and much bigger/stronger than Rua (Sam Greco, for example) and beat their ass.
He finally got caught in an exchange and paid for it. Shit happens.
Up until he got ko'd, he was winning the round. His gameplan was effective and was earning him the 10 for the round. Takedowns, an amazing knee right before the KO, more punches in the exchanges. Rua had some good knees against him on the fence and two good kicks and one decent punch. Significantly less strikes than Rua. Based upon points scored, Machida was several points ahead on the card. Had it gone on in similar fashion through the entire 5 rounds, Machida would have had another decision voctory and shogun fans would have been screaming he got robbed again.
His first loss ever in 17 fights, whooping serious ass on many very regarded fighters in the process. Who else has ever gone 16-0 in their career, beating many top guys in the process? If they were wins against sucky fighters, it doesn't mean much, but he dominated very talented and good fighters.
Saying he got exposed is like saying now everyone is gonna kick his ass because he's "figured out". That's simply untrue. There's no "figuring out" to do. His style has been displayed 17 times now and it's just a really hard style to compete against. He had to lose sooner or later and Shogun did it.
He absolutely destroyed Rashad Evans (and Evans admitted he got his ass seriously whooped).
Tito couldn't do shit to him, except for a good leg traingle attempt. His excuse was that he says Machida's a pussy for backing out of an exchange he didn't want make (What good and smart fighting is). Yet Tito was bruised and bloodied at the end of the fight. Got crushed from a knee to the gut, etc.
Sokudjou also had nothing to offer in terms of competition against Machida. I can almost guarantee the likes of Forrest Griffin, Liddel or Rampage would end up just like Rashad Evans or Sokudjou.
Not trying taking anything away from Rua. He clocked his ass hard and got the "W". Can't say shit against a KO victory. Shogun is an awesome fighter and I like him. He's a killer.
I still think Machida is a better fighter than Shogun though. Shogun hits harder, but his technical abilities are not as good as Machidas. His Muay Thai is very polished. His Muay Thai style is more like a clever and Machida's karate techniques put into an MMA application is more like a scalpel. One is more brutal, and the other is finesse. Each gets the job done, but in a very different way.
Machida strikes when people make mistakes and can't defend it. Shogun throws hard leg kicks, but leaves his grill open for punches while doing it, which is exactly what Machida attacked in the first fight.
Let's see Shogun defend his title first before everyone starts sucking his dong. Nobody at 205 has been able to hold the belt for atleast one title defense except for Machida in the last 3 years.
And, yes, Lyoto won the first fight fairly. The judges scored the rounds properly. I have the fight on DVD and have watched it many times and round 1-3 were Lyoto's for sure by a significant amount.
