"Two years ago Professor Stampfer co-authored a study published in The New England Journal of Medicine, which found that the group on a low-carbohydrate diet who ate the most saturated fat ended up with the healthiest ratio of HDL to LDL and lost twice as much weight as those on a low fat diet"

    That is huge

Saturated fat is also needed for healthy natural hormone levels

Why do you think is all the hype going on right now about drinking human breast milk by adults being beneficial and possibly chemoprotective? I tell you the reason: low-fat hype. Changing our natural macro breakdown towards more carbohydrate and less fat has lead our society to develop chronic diseases like cancer. This war on fat has specially been against saturated fat, although not essential, VERY IMPORTANT for overall health. Human breast milk has almost 50-60% calories as fat, saturated fat accounting for almost half of it. It includes good amounts of lauric and capric acid, both shown to be antimicrobial. Cholesterol is also present in HB milk in almost 6 times the amount that most adults consumes in their food. Depriving our bodies from the fat and cholesterol that we need, determined by our genetics, is the culprit of many diseases we see these days. Drinking HB milk to prevent diseases and having a better overall health is not magical, is just that you are giving your body something it needs.

    do you have a Dickie-Do?

You may be asking yourself, “What is a Dickie-Do?” Let me answer that question with a brief story which happened to my friend, Mike, a couple of years ago. Mike, who at the time was 21 years old, 6′4”, weighed about 180 pounds, and was in overall good physical shape, noticed that his 6-pack wasn’t as good as it used to be. Mike was working at a construction site with his shirt off and he was talking with an older coworker about how his stomach was growing larger.
Mike: “I’ve been drinking too much beer lately, I’m starting to grow a Beer Belly.”
Coworker: “What are you talking about Skinny? When you get to be my age you will have to worry about growing a Dickie-Do.”
Mike: “What the hell is a Dickie-Do?”
Coworker: “It’s a name for my big Beer Belly.”
Mike: “Why do you call your Beer Belly a Dickie-Do?”
Coworker: “Because it hangs out further than my Dickie-Do!!”

Guys, your posts and this thread amuse me. It's obvious that we need fats. The human body can survive on proteins and fats, it doesn't need carbs, carbs just gives us energy and too much if it and we become fat. I feel that we are moving forward I mean back in the 70's and 80's, the bodybuilders focus on that 600 grams of carbs a day scheme to put on mass, when is diet time, they lower it to 250-300 grams of carbs to lose fat. In the current era, more bodybuilders are eating more fats and keep carbs around 300-350 grams to avoid insulin spikes, and when is diet time, the carbs are eliminated. Look at the bikini pro's diet, they go on some sort of palumbo diet to lose fat in the correct places(not a fat spot reduction response) and besides, fats is the most calorie dense food out there at 9 grams as oppose to carbs which is 4 grams. Now look at these fast food places, the foods are loaded with fat and if your cheating and your on the palumbo diet, there's a kfc and a 32 grams of fat and 63 grams of protein worth of that double down ready for your enjoyment.

    nuff said.

The 'general public' already know all the shizzle on healthy fats etc etc ec what most people dont seem to comprehend though is that if you eat too much fat alongside too many carbs you will get fat!

Its a fact that low-fat high(er) carb diets work as do low-carb high(er) fat diets. Both are a source of energy so why eat both?
