Vitor Belfort vs. ??? for the UFC MW title in November
Belfort vs. Chael Sonnen or Anderson Silva (finally?) ...?
Manager says Vitor Belfort will fight for UFC middleweight title in November
by Steven Marrocco on May 19, 2010 at 6:00 pm ET
Vitor Belfort's shoulder is on the mend, and he will be able to fight for the middleweight title in the fall, according to his manager.
Fabiano Farah, Belfort's representative, told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) that the fighter will not get a warm-up fight before he vies for the 185-pound belt.
"Vitor will be in (the best) absolute physical condition to return to the cctagon and fight for the UFC title by November 2010," Farah wrote today in an email.
No UFC events are currently rumored for November.
Belfort (19-8 MMA, 8-4 UFC), a former UFC champion at light heavyweight, was due to face current middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva at UFC 112 before "The Phenom" withdrew due to a severe shoulder injury that required surgery.
According to multiple reports, Belfort saw a shoulder specialist at the behest of UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta and was given a four-month window for a return to the gym. In April, the fighter told Tatame.com that he would return to the octagon between August and November.
In Belfort's absence, the UFC has slotted Chael Sonnen as Silva's next contender at UFC 117 in August. In several interviews, UFC president Dana White expressed confidence that Sonnen would erase the bad taste left UFC 112, where the champion gave a widely panned performance against Belfort replacement Demian Maia.
If Silva wins at UFC 117, White recently told reporters, he will fight Belfort and then make a semi-permanent move to light heavyweight.
Belfort echoed fans' disappointment over Silva's turn at UFC 112.
"Well, I don't have to say much about it," he told Tatame.com. "The audience and Dana White has already spoken for me. This is the way I'm feeling about it now."
Belfort returned to the octagon at UFC 103 this past September after almost four years served in other promotions and quickly knocked out former middleweight champion Rich Franklin. The win put him squarely in the UFC's sights for a title shot at Silva. He was penciled in to face the champion at UFC 108 but an elbow injury forced Silva's withdrawal."The gym is one of life's best arenas for building the toughest of men. Not because you learn to experience success, but because you've been forced to accept failure and identify your flaws."

Sonnen has talked mad shit on Silva.
You can bet that Silva will show up to beat his ass hard and quick.
Despite his previous goof-off fights, you can guarantee that his ass was chewed for it hard after 112, and he will step back in the ring and murder people like he does.

That's most likely what will happen.
He may get caught and KO'd by luck of the other fighter. That crap can happen.
Look how quickly Machida got KO'd against Shogun the second time. Shogun wasn't exactly lucky, but Machida had never even lost a single round (serious domination) in his MMA career until his match against Shogun, and the second fight he gets KO'd in the first round. That shouldn't have happened to someone with skills as amazing as Machida's. But, shit happens and even the best of the best can get KO'd with a punch.

I was talking about Machida who had never lost a round in his career (UFC and outside of UFC) until he faced shogun. Machida is career 16-1. Making th epoint that even the most dominant fighters can lose. Shogun is the best Machida has faced, and they are 1-1 against eachother.
A. Silva has lost 4 fights outside of the UFC. 26-4 career.
That's beside the point really. Sonnen is going to die and so is Belfort.
I especially want to see Sonnen die. Fuck that asshole. He's a total prick.
