Staying at the Wynn or Venetian as usually.. closest walk to the Expo.. about 15 minutes. The Orleans is a dump.. way too far off the strip and takes hours to get a cab out of there after the show.
They need to bring it back to Mandalay or some other on-strip hotel that has some class and convenience.

Even for a local, I liked it better at the MB.
That being said, for those who want quality and still be close to the venue, there's always the Palms.
Lot's of celebrities stay there and it's exactly a one mile trip.CutlerAthletics.com

No one outside of bodybuilding cares about bodybuilding. Therefore, those of us in this community can only be embarrassed if we allow ourselves to be.
Sure, maybe things were nicer at Mandalay Bay back in the day, but maybe we - the industry - were spending more than we could afford. Everything's cheaper at the Orleans, for both the organizers AND the fans. Well, everything except ticket prices, that is.
And what is with all the complaints about waiting for cabs after the show?? If you self-park your $13/day rental, it's like a 3-minute walk to your car.

Houston....perfect place...middle of the country...no smoking city ordiance....tons of hotels and restaurants to suite all different price ranges....continential and southwests main hubs.....George R Brown convention next to the Astros b-ball park and the Four Seasons...if you roll like that....and we are the fattest city in Americia so everybody will feel better about themselves......

It's only embarrassing if we allow it to be? Great rationale. So by that same logic being a pornstar is only an embarrassing career choice if that person allows themselves to be embarrassed? Or, it's only embarrassing to be white trash ect ect. Regardless of who's watching or judging, embarrassing is still embarrassing. Having it at nice hotel on the strip portrays that it is a somewhat of a professional upstanding event. I guess everything in bodybuilding should be relegated to shady, cult-like, backroom drug deals and the like; having the Olympia at a run down dump seems to be just an extension of the aforementioned. But I guess it only appears that way if we allow to appear that way right? Ok.

The Orleans smell's like 3 things alllll wrapped into one:
1.Cigarettes that's been put-out a glass of day old Guinness.
2.Taco's.
3.Douche Water, that's been used to clean the room's with.
I Love That place!!!!!!!!!
Can't Keep my Clothes on In there, I sometimes Leave the Room JUST long enough to 'forget' the smell, so when I go back in It's all heavenly again.

Hey, everyone loves white trash! (Hi, Tiger!!)
The Orleans arena is a fine venue and anyone who says otherwise is itching for a fight. For people attending the show only, I think the arena more than surpasses the standards one would expect for the pinnacle of this sport.
As for the hotel itself, no, it's not the Wynn or the Red Rock, but the rooms are clean and comfortable and there are plenty of good food options. And who doesn't love the Alligator Bar??
Add to that cheap gaming options and one can get a lot more bang for the buck during an Olympia held at the Orleans.
Be that as it may, with so much to do in Vegas, how much time does one spend at the host hotel anyway?
