mens physique for next yr?
Rumor but apparently going to happen..."men's physique" in the NPC. Can't say I'm interested in seeing that being added.
this is from hardbody.com. from issacs twitter at jr nats..Last edited by tammyp; 06-19-2010 at 08:37 PM.

It's a good thing.. Drugs or not, some people don't have the structure or capability to be massive and besides the look would be more broadly accepted in the general community not unlike figure or bikini is now.

How fucking childish that would be.
It's akin to a high school foot ball player making fun of a volley bar player. "I'M MORE HARD CORE THAN YOU !"
Fuck that, lol.
It will be good for the sport, end of story. A 'natural' look is FAR more appealing to the general population and thus, will garner the sport more attention.
Inb4 HHH says, "This Physique category belongs @ Chipendales"; sorry buddy, I had to :P.

It really won't be a big deal! I bet you won't hear Jay or Dex complaining that those guys have no place on stage the way many of the women have with bikini. let the guys who want to compete in that division compete and the guys that want to be huge will still be that way.

Not really seeing the issue here, everyone has the right to compete. As others have mentioned not everyone has the desire to be a chemical experiment of muscle at 220 pounds on stage. Some prefer to have more of an aesthetic pleasing physique and wish to compete for some gratification other than what they receive from their fellow peers in they gym or on the beach somewhere.
I'm not too sure why there is so much discrimination against those who are lighter in muscular stature? Have we all forgotten the size of those who were the first to compete in bodybuilding?

The comments about garnering the sport more attention is inane and hardly thought out.
The only thing this is going to do is going to be to further make bodybuilding look like a true freak show! Its not going to give bodybuilding any more credibility or make it look better by any means? How the hell could it? Its just going to make it look worse, and the competitors look even worse.
Its going to be a waste of time for the spectators. If someone wants to watch a physique competition they'll turn on Jersey Shore or go to the beach, mall or gym. This is going to turn a one day show into a whole fucking weekend with the endless prejudging and night shows. This quite possibly is the worst idea the IFBB/NPC has had since pulling judging from the evening posing round and introducing Bikini.
The one thing it will bring more attention to in a positive light is itself. Its gonna get attention of course, and put more money in promoters pockets but its almost making a mockery out of a true physique competition. What the fuck is next? An annual Mr. Fashion Olympia? The NPC Runway Nationals? This is FUCKING ABSURD!

Might you give a definition of this as I'm not too sure there is a written definition. I do believe what you stated is based on a relative perception. Do you not agree that someone who works out is building a physique and deserves equal opportunity to compete against those in said division? Might it also be true that those of the era of aesthetics believe that the mass monsters are making a mockery of this "sport"?

A different division isn't what they need. They need a drug tested bodybuilding division. However, since that would be akin to admitting gear is accepted in the NPC/IFBB, it would never happen. So to all those people that don't want to use, I say compete in the NGA/INBF
