    Hi Chris,

    Really quick, simple question.

I believe I've heard that you're very selective when taking on new clients. I can understand that part of it is that you're very busy and don't always have time for taking on something totally new.

What is it that you look for when taking on a new client? Is there anything specific that would attract you to working with a particular bber? Are there certain red flags that push you away from certain guys...or certain personalities?

LOL No Rhyme or reason generally I am too busy to take a client. I cant juggle more then say 10 or so......

I think this year I probably turned down 100 people. I don't mean " turned down" but I am sure I have read at least 100 maybe more then 150 inquiries from serious people who are looking for these kind of services or coaching....

Bottom line for me is it has to be fun and if I have a lot of clients by definition it cant be fun

The showings and level of conditioning of your clients speaks volumes for your level of expertise. I could read your nutrition tips and advice all day and never tire of it. Thank you.

Recently I've been listening to Layne Norton and his take on diet, protein, carb intake etc. He basically goes against just about everything you promote and most of the common beliefs and habits of the bodybuilding nutrition/diet game. I honestly find it a bit arrogant, and don't really agree with it based on my own experiences and that of others that have done the tried and true methods for years.

Was just curious if you had an opinion or any thoughts on his values/stance on nutrition? For example, he pretty much scoffed at anyone thinking that carb cycling, and including a day of higher carbs gave your metabolism a boost. Or that meal timing had any relevance.

Who is layne Norton ? Screw him.

Just kidding. You know I have a "system" that I do with the bbers I work with that is based on bro science I tell guys I work with that what I try to do is figure out what works for them then get out of the way.

I think one issue with all this stuff is there are many different ways to skin a cat. You may think your way is the only way and I may think my way is the only way ( although I don't think that...which of cource, I feel, makes me a very very effective coach)

I know from myself that eating big meals from protein/fat and from carbs are not the same...from carbs I gain more fat!

but here is the question if we are full on that day,and we eat 2000 calories from carbs(for example 500grams of sugar) do we stored only 2000 calories as a fat...
rememebr we are full, glycogen cant be stored..

from my experience if we eat a 2000 calories protein`fat meal above maintence and we are already full,we will store more fat than eating only carb meal!

REMEMBER here we are talking when we are full not if we are on empty so we can store glycogen
Its too scientific for me lol

once glycogen stores are full all excess carbs or the majority of them- will be stored as fat

Think of it as a glass of water.

If u have a half empty glass ( say a 12 oz glass) you can put 6 oz of water into the glass and that's about as much as it can hold any more...and the remaining water poured in will spill onto the table on which the glass sits.

Having you on the sugar subject now Chris, can you give an estimate of how many grams you could consume daily for a certain weight or as a ratio of your total carbs?

Thanks for taking the time to reply, much appreciated. Of course nutrition and diet is very individual, and what works for one guy may not work for the next. Anyhow, I really admire your expertise and approach, again the results speak for themselves.

Makes sense. Appreciate the honest answer and thank you for responding so quickly.

I'm going to push it and ask another...

Do you work with non-competitive bodybuilders? Guys that are done with competing but looking to accomplish specific goals with their bodies? I would imagine that the fun part for you is seeing your athletes on stage and the satisfaction you get out of seeing them do well and come in at their best. Just wondering if you enjoy helping non-competitive athletes.

If im sloppy looking would you focus more on fat loss. My goal is to build muscle mass. Or would you just not worry about fat loss till I do a show next year in November. Thank you
