its not about the quality of the programming......i think its resonable to believe that a larger number of avg ppl would watch hot dog eating for the shock factor....
if avg ppl turned to espn and saw bodybuilding they would be like omg ghay and change the channel.

Yeah reallly.. how embarrasing... pray to gawd that shyt NEVER
hits the fan on this soil.. there'd be mass numbers of give'in's..
you know the ones, the ones that'd just give in vs. fight for what
they believe in..but there'd be pockets *smile* bands of warriors
holding their ground, protecting what's theirs.. It's my sole intent
to never give in to meaningless shyt like sit'n around watchin' 2
hours of hot dog eating.. F' all that!.... The powers that be have
fear, they fear that if they were to start airing bodybuilding comps
that it could send the wrong message and *gasp* make people
actually think of taking better care of themselves.. UN-fortunately
fat tasty and quick has become the masses *shakes head in disgust*
Athletes will always have the edge............ sooner and later.

~ I love watching BBing but hell I would watch a hot dog eating contest too!! If anything could put me off cheating on my diet or making a pig of myself it would be seeing THAT!! Besides that shit takes skill and training too!! But seriously in this day and age TV is catering to a more wide audience so i figure it won't be long until there is a channel dedicated to JUST BBing, especially if we continue to demand it!! Maybe even our own Dave & John will be the force to begin such a task!! First this site and coverage of most shows with radio shows and videos now a RX Muscle Gym in the works ... why not a TV Channel next?? ~

The thing about it if you watch the contest is none of those top competitors are fat. The kobyashi guy has a Damn 6pack, chestnut is pretty normal looking, the chick I forget her name is Damn near skinny. Not saying they are healthier than BBers just that its not as bad as some people think. And they, are certainly in better shape than 90% of Americans.

I really like the Nathan's contest lol..
BBing is such a niche sport we shouldn't really expect it to get large scale coverage.

Because Joey Chestnut IS an American PATRIOT/HERO/ROLE MODEL!! He helped America regain it's dignity during economic crisis by eating more hot dogs than Kobayashi! What's more American than that?
Right now, nobody in bodybuilding can be put in a class with Chestnut. He belongs right up there with Stallone, Uncle Sam, and Arnold (yes, I know he's not technically American! Joey Chestnut FTW

For a guy who can eat 60 hot dogs, he's pretty lean!
