I don't care about Lebron, Wade, Bosh, free agency, money, or whatever.

What does interest me is the fact that never before in the history of the NBA have we seen this kind of talent on a team before. It's gonna be one hell of a season

I`m sure that didn`t make him any more welcome in Cleveland though.

This was during the plan B free agency era. And I think we traded for both Byner and Gersld Riggs in 1989. After his stint in Washington, Byner re signed with Cleveland, then the Ravens until he retired and became part of the coaching staff before joining Coach Gibbs here on his 2nd tenure.

LeBron is a born and raised Ohio-an (Ohio-nite? I don't know)....anyway a lot of people feel like he's abondoning his team, his people, his state, etc....particularly in the VERY public fashion of holding a press conference special announcing his leaving....on espn radio they were equating it to being dumped by a SO in public without hearing from them first....so now the owner is taking this all very personally and published a letter basically saying oh yeah? well we'll show him!



oddly enough, his calling out of LeBron's behavior only makes him look better b/c now we're all talking about how the owner sounds like a kid who didn't get a toy he wanted!

It is not even a press conference but more of a sit down show about himself leaving. And that is what I did not like.

At the end of the day, winning a title was what mattered to him. Not the money and fame he would have had in NY. And I respect him for that.

But I don't really respect the fact that he had to make it so public. Definitely a slap in the face to Cleveland. But after stating the Cleveland doesn't even make his list of top 5 favorite cities, wearing the Yankee hat to the Indians game, among other things, it really doesn't surprise me at all.

I do agree that this public display of his was uncalled for. Trades and new signings happen all the time, but I do not recall press conferences being held for them. That sounds very attention whorish.

You're right on both.

People can accept change and if LeBron had been humble and demonstrated gratefulness in a quiet departure, he'd be loved by millions as 'poor LeBron'. Instead, he chose to have millions hate him. That's his choice and because he's a loser, that's what should be expected of him.
