What Can I use besides Vitargo for Dave's Offseason diet
I dont have any waxymaize or anything like that.
Can I just use sweet potato, brown rice or fruit for preworkout?
What fast acting carbs could I put in place of the vitargo/waxymaize for postworkout?
Also when taking fishoil or the evening primrose...would I take it with a meal and count it as my fat for the meal? thanks

pre workout nutrition
dextrose is your closes friend to the aformentioned above.
dextrose readily converts to glycogen faster than any other carbohydrate. lol you also can use glucose tablets and some gatorades contain dextrose as well as various kinds of candy.

as far as your oil supplementation, in the offseason you dont count it due to the high caloric intake of the rest of your diet (ie. if your diet requires 25 grams of fat per meal, than having 27-28 grams for 1 or 2 meals is not a problem since your in a caloric surplus.... so go ahead and have your oil and dextrose and let the board know how your body reacts...

So if I used Fruit for preworkout that will not work with dave's offseason diet?
Also I usually consume Rice Krispies Cereal grinded into a powder with a shake for my postworkout nutrition.

dextrose is better, fruit refuels liver glycogen, dextrose effects the muscles more directly.
the rice crispies are fine in my opinion. I think people get to caught up on all these crazy carbs. Real vitargo is like 40 for a 2 pound tub. I order 80%dextrose, 20% waxy mix from true protein. I get 5 pounds for like $20

would oatmeal be a bad choice post workout? I've read so many different things that I don't know what to believe when it comes to post workout carbs.

I think people over analyze this...Try a bunch of different things, see what your body likes the best.
I just stick to fat/protein now, but when using carbs I tried anything from dextrose, pure sugar, brown rice, oatmeal to damn oreo cookies.
We all know which one tasted the best. LOL

it would, but then you have to get into the whole issue of if it is cooked of uncooked waxy maize blah blah blah. If Idont buy from trueprotein and want a pre made product I usally get sportpharma carb max: Maltodextrin, Waxy Maize, D-Glucose, Trehalose. 8.99 for 30 servings.
