Jewbacca COMPETES in Jacksonville for the title!
Yes, that's right... I'm less than one week out from my first show in more than 7 years. I'll be in Jacksonville at Dexter's show, covering the show, collecting gossip, and taking pictures... but this time, I will also be getting on stage!
Many people have asked me what are my expectations. My answer is just to have fun, and hopefully show that I can not only talk-the-talk, but also walk-the-walk! I started out a 278lbs. I originally thought that was a mostly solid 278lbs, but as I started dieting, I was admittedly disappointed to discover I was holding more fat and water than I anticipated. I'm currently weighing in at 220lbs and will most likely step on stage at 215ish. If you would’ve asked me 3 months ago how I would feel getting on stage at 215lbs, I would have told you I wouldn't do it. I would have told you, I would wait till I was at least 225. The dieting process has changed all of that, and although I'm not where I would like to be, I am where I am, and I accept that.
When I step on stage in less than a week, I'll be proud of the just that... Stepping on stage. If I think back just a few years, and put myself back into the place I was in then, even getting back on stage at all would see incomprehensible. My journey from then to now is nothing short of amazing to me. If I think back, it's even surprising that I'm alive... or not in prison somewhere. So regardless of how I place, or even how I look, I feel like I've accomplished something significant, and learned a lot about what I'm capable of.

(The two bottom pics are as close as I could get pose for pose... 278 vs 224, 2 weeks out)

You figure you lost some muscle not using carbs and going slower? As opposed to cottage cheese and pineapples?

I TOTALLY agree. I over estimated the amount of muscle I originally had... People don't take in account for how much water they are holding. I was 278 when I began and in 10 days I was 264. All water loss. After 10 days, I realized my goal of getting on stage at 240 was unrealistic.

Exactly, people honestly have no idea how much water they are holding in their bodies. Not only that, but how much the total mass of fat that consumes their body. What's harder for some is that many bodybuilders or people of such nature due tend to hold fat better than most. All the while that misconstrues their image of how much fat they are realistically holding.
