Keto question
Hi All,
My names Reese and I'm new to the forum.
I've read through many fat loss threads and I find that the kinds of things that can kick you out of ketosis varies quite a bit.
With the main culprit being direct carbs, what other substances/foods have you found to also have the ability to definitely stop ketosis?
Others I have seen are aspartame, caffeine... if someone has a list that would be cool.
Thanks,
Reese

Hi Reese,
Like you mentioned the main culprit is carbohydrates since you are training the body and brain to run on ketone bodeis, not glucose. You will get a small amount of carbohydrates indirectly from nuts, vegetables etc. but these are minimal and will be utilised very quickly so will not effect ketosis.
I havnt heard of caffeine and aspartame affecting ketosis and since these are not carbohydrates and dont interact with the oxidation of fatty acids I dont see the issue. Plus Dave has mentioned numerous times that is OK to drink diet soda (containing aspartame) on the diet.
All in all just follow the diet as best you and dont overcomplicate things too much.

Aspartame and caffeine shouldn't kick you out. Splenda in excess might since there's maltodextrose in it.
You guys with the huge sponsor ads in your signatures make reading the forums annoying.
