This is a pretty cool site that I've used in the past to locate local farms.
A lot of them you can buy direct or from a co-op.
Local farmers markets are a good place for produce and eggs as well.

It can also really depend on your country. If you live in Australia or the UK you should be MOST concerned about vegetables.

There are certain foods that you want to look into buying organic b/c they use a lot of chemicals. You don't have to buy all organic.

We focus on purchasing those foods that tend to absorb the most chems such as soft rind fruits and veggies. We also purchase deli meats as they are organic and also tend to have significantly less nitrates.

Organic meat is tremendously expensive, but we hunt and fish so chicken is about the only thing we need to buy...and to be honest it is soo freakin expensive we rarely go organic with chick.

And beware when buying organic processed foods as they often are not really much better nutritionally than non-organic....ie full of organic corn syrup, but it is still corn syrup.
